I got one of these on the last go-around for about the same price. It uses a YiChip YC3121-L for the BLE and requires an app to interface with it. I tried figuring out how to communicate with it using a Raspi but though I connected to it I didn't get very far with it. It wouldn't accept any normal ESC or other printer commands and while there were repos for similar printers they didn't work with mine. If you want to play with reverse engineering a BLE device and don't mind spending $7, or if you don't mind using a bad app to print labels, it is fine. Otherwise don't bother.

The app works fine. Don't waste your $7 if you don't want to follow the instructions that make it clear the app is needed like the person above

I made it clear that if you like using crappy apps to use a label printer, then it is fine. The fact is that requiring a phone app to use something perfectly capable of connecting to any device with bluetooth on it is a forced limitation a lot of people don't want to deal with, and a lot of these apps require access to data that people would rather not give. A phone has your entire life on it -- I really don't understand why people are willing to trust a random company that sells you a $7 label printer with access to the data on it.

🍿 I think vast majority of people are gonna buy this and follow the instructions to using the app and will be just fine. But you represent less than 5% of the public who like to tinker with things (I'm one of them) and that's not most people.
