You're eliminating ewaste by giving something that 100% can be reused a second life. Not everyone is a YooToob "content influencer" or whatever they call themselves. You're not shooting videos with 8,000K cameras that need editing to show everyone how perfect life is by slamming your hand into the lens.
A machine like this is a perfect spare/secondary unit....something to have on standby in case your primary laptop goes down. I know, most people live on their phones and don't actually do any real work for a living - but for those who have a laptop, ask yourself....how long can you go without one? I'm not saying emotionally, I mean...how long can you continue to get things done without a proper machine? If you're in college, that could be less than 2-3 days. Do they still have open computer labs on campus? If you're an adult, maybe a week or two? There's only so much real work you can get done on a 5" mobile.
With tariffs and unforeseen shortages (like Covid), do you want to be waiting 6-10 months for a spare part that may never arrive? Or for a very modest price, you can have an insurance policy where you have it IN YOUR HAND. That's real value.

So what? These things can be had all day for $120-140 on eBay. These were launched in mid-2018. $190 for an almost 7 year old laptop isn't a good deal.

Define "Better"? Build quality, probably. But something like this has 2x the CPU speed, new battery and warranty. https://www.walmart.com/ip/ASUS-V...om=/search These have a place, but at the $120-140 range you can get them on eBay, not at almost $200
And yet, this person still don't provide a link to these so-called ebay listings.
These were a great deal 24 months ago. The fact that people are buying them today and even speaking favorably of them as a deal is funny. These are worth $100+tax max.

I'm sorry you lack the ability to take the 20 seconds and search for yourself. Here's a shortcut for you to scroll thorough. You're welcome. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_...4084.l1313
Leave the attitude. You made multiple claims but didn't back it up. I'm prevented by the mods and the "code of conduct" on here from telling you exactly what sort of person you are, for giving an attitude when being called out for unsubstantiated claims. But I'll let that be an exercise for you, dear reader.

Also nice is that the RAM can be upgraded.

The CPU is not going to set speed records, but is competent enough for basic browsing and productivity.
About the biggest ding with these older models is that I've gotten a few where one of the trackpad buttons is worn out.
Good luck!
