When is the 14" worth getting over this? Like actual theatre room area?
i have 2 of the intro level klipsch 12s and never thought i needed To upgrade, and then I read a post saying that they're too punchy and I now see what they're saying ☠️ I should have just let it be.
If you're happy with your 12s, don't waste money. "Punchy" doesn't mean anything in real terms. Those are just BS youtuber vomit.
Two of these 12s would definitely up your bass game, though, better than one 14. One 16 would probably be louder but less even in sound.
This or the RP-1400SW for a 2300 ft3 semi open space?
I'd get one of these and, if you want more, get another of these later. Or just get two now. I have the 14, and it's great, but I bought before the 12s went on sale.
I'm in a wheelchair and live in an apartment, so I will be changing it all the time sadly. I may want to rock out and it's 12pm so the neighbors can suck it. But at 8 or 9pm I'll want to curb the thump. Same as if a really bassy song comes on, I'll want to turn it down a bit. Since accessing the back is a pain physically for me, the app is pretty important. Thank you for this info though. It sounds like this will serve my purpose.

sorry you meant the other SVS has an app. so yeah I probably need to seek out a sub with an app.
You could also get a remote outlet switch, they are fairly cheap like $10 or opt for a smart switch with alexa/phone control and just plug the sub into that to turn it off/on

Yeah I have one of those but I need to turn it down ideally. But thanks, something to consider.
Has it been reliably confirmed that Klipsch has finally overcome all the amp failures that plagued its previous series of subwoofers, with these new RP subs? I've seen so many horror stories on audiophile websites about the older models...

IMO the app is overrated unless you are constantly changing the sound profile, but most sub users "set it and forget it", so not worth much for most.
This one is in a whole different league as far as output and components used.

You can always turn a sub down. You can only turn it up so much before you reach the limits. So I err on the side of bigger being better.
