I also ordered this and returned it last time. The reason I returned is these do not stick to items by magnetics. They stick by adhesive and the item is held closed by a very weak magnet.

So 2 issues.

1) I prefer to be able to move things without leaving adhesive behind

2) The magnetic latching was so weak the weight of a longer cable would open it and the cable would fall on the floor.

I solved my cable issue with these:

They allow you to tighten the strap around any cable and they hold it tight. They also have a magnet on the end that is strong enough to stick to something while holding the cable. I have a wire mesh organizer that I stick them to until needed. They also come with adhesive disks that you can stick to a not metalic surface and then use the magnet on them.

Better options and better retention.

I'm sure you were trying to be helpful, but without any explanation as to why you returned it, the comment is actually not helpful.

I cut a bunch of slits in a piece of cardboard that would fit my phone, kindle and other charge cables well. Then I taped that sucker just behind my dresser. Basically does the same thing as these things.

Yes, could you please post a photo? I also want to recreate your invention.
