I have one. This is the lowest price since 2023. Heavy but gets the job done. Fits under a sports car. Don't forget to buy Jack oil.
You have to be joking. This is so much faster than a car's jack. Not to mention that a scissor jack is nowhere near as safe/sturdy as a floor jack like this. I work on cars a lot, too, and your comment is not the comment of someone who works on cars a lot; at least not the comment of someone who knows what they're doing.
I work on cars maybe once a year and see the value of a floor jack. I got kids and a wife I need to attend to so any time saved is worth money spent, especially if I'm saving a ton on labor.

Using a scissor jack 4x to complete a brake job is a real pain. And lifting a vehicle up from a center point to get the entire front or rear up for jack stands - you can't do that with scissor jacks.

Work smarter, not harder.

My 4 ton floor is going strong 15+ years later and lifts my dually easily. Granted the jack is 4 ton rated and each axle is only 2 tons so it better. Also had no problems lifting my 2500s I used to own as well. The 3 ton that has resided in my truck's tool box for 4+ years now has worked the handful of times I've yanked it out.

Should be all of them. If you search the interwebs you'll find a letter from the CEO/founder whatever he is. I gave my buddy my 2 sets of 12 tons and even though they weren't explicitly listed in the recall the previously mentioned letter says they'll take back any stands of that era. He showed them that letter and the shop gave him the refund after initially saying no. I had my 6 tons exchanged, only problem I had was when I did it was right after the new versions came out and everyone was exchanging so they were out of stock for a while. Somehow ended up with 3 sets of the recalled 6 tons and eventually exchanged all 3.

I have their 1.5 ton aluminum one. Was that part of it?

No clue, haven't owned anything light enough to use those in almost 20 years. I only remember the 3 ton and 6 ton stands being part of the actual recall. The 12 tons were if you didn't feel safe you could exchange I believe.

*edit*

I didn't even know they made 1.5 ton jack stands. I don't see them being listed on the site.

If you happen to have the old jack stands, even if not recalled, HF decided to take them back under a voluntary recall. They will give you MSRP for the old jack stands. I was able to upgrade during a sale and they also gave me a gift card for the difference. This would be a great time to upgrade to stands with locking pins.

I have an old set of the six ton stands, but I have never been able to fully read the numbers to confirm the recall. I wonder if they will still take them back?

Edit: as recommended above I found this message. I'll be taking my old ones back.

A block of wood or a jack extension fixes this problem when i had a lifted XJ

For some reason my 2.5 ton craftsman jack isn't tall enough to lift either an Escape or Equinox rear end high end to remove the tire. Using the block method worked on both with varying results.

During one instance the 2 1/2" paving stone block broke in two. This was possibly due to firm and soft ground creating weak points for stability in the paving block. Or it just wasn't thick enough to hold the weight properly.

On a different time last week, I used two, side by side, with a gap between, 5" paving blocks to laterally hold the jack without the wheels on the blocks and also an old cedar lumber piece to give grip for the handle 1-2" of the jack. This method worked best and felt safer.

Both instances worked to get the job done but 5" blocks seemed best for my situation.

Have one, really like it. Lots of lift, lots of travel per pump, visible build quality and stout materials that just feels safe and controlled. No more grimacing when its time to lower the car. It lifts my ND Miata with ease, anything north of stance should be fine.
First Jack? Buy jack stands, never trust hydraulics alone to not give out and crush your head. Saved 75 bucks but got their head crushed by brake caliper or chest crushed by a differential is officially a dumb way to die.

He's talking about jack stands not floor jacks.

Also, reading some comments on here scares me. Never jack up the car without putting blocks on the tires staying on the ground, and NEVER get under your car without lowering it onto jack stands first, and give it a little push (a little don't try to knock it off ha) after it's on the jack stands to make sure it's not going to fall off on top of you.

Got it. I still have the 3 ton jack stands, sounds like those would be eligible.

I need to buy that 3 ton Pittsburgh Low Profile Jack, have the 1.5, but its doesn't lift high enough. Still a great Jack though very light to carry.
Me too- that 1.5T light aluminum jack has done very well for me for 15 years. It graduated from a Acura TL to lifting a 5.7 tundra and GX460. It still does the trick but I've maxed out the weight and certainly the height. Height can be "resolved" with a wooden block but it's probably time. However- I'm not paying $30 for a HF membership,

I've had great success with harbor freight hydraulic jacks. A lot of my technician friends really like them too. One just bought a bunch of daytona ones for the dealship he works at.

I have had the old old version of this (I think it was "Central Hydraulics" brand then) for 15 years and it still works fine haven't really done anything with it besides abuse it 😂 Works better than my much newer 1.5T aluminum jack that's barely been used.

Bought this in the fall when it was on sale for $99. Had to return it due to a faulty piston assembly. These are cheap jacks. Returning this is a PITA due to the weight. I'm a big HF fan and own a number of their tools due to the ease of exchanging/returning them if needed. There's a reason its on sale again.

Same here, I used a Two 2x4 wood block stacked on top of each other. Doesn't seem safe, but it gets the job done. Also, 911Motorsports sell extension for the 1.5t Pittsburgh Jack, but it's a little too pricy for me when I can buy a New Floor Jack for around the same price.

You need the Badlands.
Why would you suggest the Badlands, an offroad jack, when someone just wants to lift a taller vehicle?

What they need is the long-reach jack, which is also on sale for $179.

I know Harbor Fright had a big issue with jack STANDS not too long ago. But that really was an outlier and appears to have been corrected completely. Their floor jacks have always been a great value. I got one that is like 20years old. I had to replace 2 orings a few times and put more oil in it, but it still works great. The automotive diy community overall stands behind the floor jacks.

With any floor jack, any, exercise caution.
Shake the vehicle first, never go under a vehicle with just the floor jack, etc
