I own this monitor and I think it is great. At just about 3 feet from my eyes (24 inches when I lean forward, and 38 when I lean back), it covers just the right amount of my vision vertically and horizontally (leaned forward, the side edges move to periphery vision, leaned back I can focus on the full width). The only thing that would make it better would be if it had a tighter curve and higher refresh rate. I think it has a 2500R curve, That is equivalent to 8 feet. I do not know anyone who would use a monitor 8 feet away.

I guess the only other thing I do not like particularly about it is the bottom single button used to turn it on and adjust it and the slowness of the response it gives. I guess it is better than a button to the backside like some of my other monitors, but I really do like my power button more accessible.

$1240 for an average monitor with a 3.9 star rating. You can get OLED monitors of a similar size with double or triple the refresh rate with more features and ports for less. Not trying to TC. Genuinely curious, what am I missing?

Thunderbolt. This is for Mac users. This and the more expensive Dell one (with higher refresh rate) are your only options if you want a Thunderbolt hub, 5k and Ultra wide.

Thunderbolt is not exclusive to Apple.

I just got that and I'm returning it. I hate literally everything about it. Currently using a OLED G9 and much prefer it.

Care to elaborate why?

I thought 5k2k meant text would be more clear but it's more fuzzy than the OLED G9, which is already not as good as a VA panel that I had.

The size and curvature don't mesh well together. It's tall, like a regular 4K monitor so it's better if it's a little further back.. but the 800R curvature only works if the monitor is close to u, like 2 feet away. Which then also because it's closer, the text clarity is even worse.

This is a productivity monitor, and it excels at that. Great ppi at 40", good colors and brightness, great in a bright room. Pbp is great, convenient (thought like mentioned above could be snappier) switching between sources and modes. I'm all in on oleds (gaming laptops and screens, tvs, handhelds) but I keep things up all day at work, monitor things with static elements, leave an automation running with my screen locked which keeps the screen on, etc.

The LG 45 tries to do productivity and gaming, and that's very hard to do. Just having the nub on the back drove me nuts when I tried it out. I would also worry about burn-in while doing pbp etc, and would miss the tb dock. I got this model open box 2 years ago and use it every day. I tried the Dell and it wasn't at all suited for gaming despite the refresh rate. I think this one should be closer to a grand, but you could get this and an aw3225qf (I have them side by side downstairs) for about the same price as the 45. Or this and a c4 oled. I have the g9 upstairs and can't imagine changing either for the 45 - but I'm very encouraged by it coming out and what improvements will be made for a dual-use screen at a phenomenal mix of ppi, resolution, and immersion.
