I hope this is not the new normal going forward for these QVC/HSN deals.

Waiting for 24G data. Otherwise their phones are not worth it.

I agree .. 21 GB data is like $70 for these plans.

6GB data for the year is practically nothing these days
it sure is for someone that uses close to zero gb data a year!

Does the Straight Talk phone have the SAME bands as the TracFone model?

I have Verizon and would want to add this phone to our plan as a backup and I know TracFone phones are Verizon-based.

I'm wondering if the Straight Talk model will have any problems obtaining a 5G UW (Ultra Wideband) signal on Verizon.
If you want to KNOW which bands (frequencies) the phone utilizes, look up its specifications on (iirc) phone arena, or, Samsung's website, etc.

There have been a few unlimited talk+text with 15GB/yr plans from November but I hear they count data even over wifi
I'm not sure about the data, but I know the plan minutes are used even when wifi calling. I actually really like these plans for kids because they run out of data almost immediately.

Does anybody know the exact model number of the Straight Talk variant Samsung A16? I'm not finding it on their website.

StraightTalk and TracFone version of the A16 are identical.

If you are only interested in the device it looks like you can also get it free at your local WalMart with plan purchase on StraightTalk

I want to thank OP for the post but I went with your suggestion which seems a bit better, although the same. My only concern is what happens when I do not pay for 2nd month?
FYI - Verizon just changed Unlock Policy April 1 for all TF/TW/ST locked phones - it's now 60 days of paid service, not 30.
It used to only require 30 days of service, but as of April 1st, the policy has changed to requiring 60 days of paid service in order to unlock it from Total Wireless (link => tfwunlockpolicy.com)

Did anyone actually buy this? The 6GB of data is likely an error. Or maybe the 365 days is an error. The plan doesn't exist through TracFone, so something is incorrect. Now, they do have an unlimited talk/text plan that has 6GB of data for 1 month (72GB for 12 months). This would be slick if it were that plan for a year 😁 Otherwise it's pretty crappy.

EDIT - OK, I see that the 1200/1200/1200 plan that HSN/QVC offers with flip phones doesn't seem to show at TracFone's site either. I suppose this could be an exclusive plan for them?

Please note that as of ~4/5 all verizon phones including mvno like total, tracfone, straight talk require 60 daus of active service before they are eligible fir unlock. Just activating and waiting 60 days wont work any longer.

New policy officially as of 4/1, but it appears if still worked until about 4/5/6 this month.

Noticed a potential loophole. If you use their IMEI checker at the bottom of the unlock policy page and get declined, the old unlock policy remains, not updated. Long shot but may help if you're filing an FCC complaint.
