I bought this in Jan 2025 bestbuy openbox satisfactory - not a scratch on laptop with all original box etc for $1189.
I really liked the screen, power, and functionality. Alot of bloatware and updates
I set it to smart charge < 80%.
One night standard shut off with it plugged in, 24 hours later I came back and the laptop was burning hot to the touch (for i don't know how long). The touchscreen gave out, the laptop lags, the touchpad works intermittently, and the battery dies extremely quickly. The laptop literally fried. I sent it in thru Bestbuy. 3 weeks later, it came back same symptoms.
Best buy eventually gave me a $1189 credit
I believe there is something wrong with the software that caused it to literally fry
Be aware if youre interested.

Just anecdotal, but I had that happen to a Surface tablet. Shut it down but left it plugged in and it seems to have never stopped charging. It was nearly hot enough to burn me and I'm pretty sure the battery would have caught fire if I'd left it plugged in much longer. It continued to work for a while after that, but the battery began to expand and eventually broke the screen.
Not sure what caused it. Still the only time I've ever had any device do that.
