Do the dress return as a return w/o receipt, unless you've maxed out on those. Then have your neighbor do it

Just as a warning you can cause weirdness if you try and pay for something they forgot to ring up --- I noticed they missed a bag of diapers I bought and brought it in with my receipt to show that they hadn't charged me for the 4th bag and that I wanted to pay for it and they looked at me as if I had 3 heads and had to have a big meeting about what to do. So that is just FYI -
And I second the "be prepared for weirdness" thing. I've done the same thing before - taken back too much change or an item that didn't get rung up and said I wanted to pay for it. Boy, it was a bigger ordeal than I could've imagined!
