Is it okay if I write it in green crayon?? Seems to be the only writing utensil I have (and my stupid ridiculous idiotic needs-to-be-replaced-because-I-hate-it printer is out of ink).

So I'm trying to figure out something for dinner tonight that I can fix without turning on the stove. So hot here, 94 degrees with heat index over 100, last I heard. Yuck.
What do you have on hand?? I'm fond of pb&j sandwiches when it's like that... but that's just me. laugh out loud (or salads, or veggies & dip, cheese & crackers, some fruit, yada yada)

And we have been without AC since last night..EEK!..The water was not draining outside and collecting in the garage EEK! EEK! The service guy came and said there is a crack in the drip pan...he ordered another drip pan and that would take 2-3 days...
hug Oy! I don't know what I'd do without the air. We keep it at 78, but if it was off I'd be utterly miserable. I guess I'd find somewhere to go sit all day!!

Oh my goodness. They have always sold out every single time I've sold them with people begging for more. They are like vultures around the candy. If you will be selling them in this heat though, I'd suggest storing them in a cooler because they could melt. Also, they may not go quite as fast if folks aren't planning on going directly home because they'll be afraid of melting. I usually wait for cooler weather if I can to sell off a lot of it. The giant bags I usually do around $4 - $5 (I could probably go a little higher, but I really like to get 'em out of here as fast as possible). The small packs of candy go for either 3/$1.00 if they are the single serve sizes or 2/1.00 if they are the bigger ones.

I think we're going to have ribs out on the grill. I can't turn on the oven or the stove when its this hot out. I just steam the veggies in the microwave and call it a day. We need a melting in this heat smilie.

I'd be OMG except that I totally remember when my boys tried to do the same thing (at different times though... they're not twins (or else I'd be going more Crazy than I already am at times). Granted when it really was time to come out, we had to evict both of them. Annoyed

I know you guys will appreciate this here...DH told me to make a list of all the items I have for sale (just a general list) and he could send it to some of his colleagues...And at the rate DH is getting orders, I dont think I will have much left to GS Roll...
My DH did this for a month or so but rapidly became tired of being a delivery service even if it was only to work.

The last straw for him was one male co-worker that insisted on going through his "order" item by item to make sure I'd given him everything he was paying for. I'd add 1-2 freebies partly in the hope they would like them enough to order more in the future but this guy didn't pay attention to the fact his "receipt" showed I'd given it for free and just jumped into complaining his order wasn't correct.

I still think I'd do pretty good if I just had him put up a notice that I'd be in the parking lot some payday with a truck full of surplus. Just haven't tried it yet

*laugh* I had problems with both my other 2 kiddoes. I don't dilate well on my own, and then my first was a bit on the big side so she didn't want to come out too easily.

We didn't have any problems when we tried it, but it did get a bit hectic trying to keep up with updating my stock and filling all the orders - especially when I'd run out of certain products and several people wanted 'em. The truck/trunk idea may work out well though.

I've thought of doing it again, but only if I could do an online thing that would automatically track how many of an item was left. I could email the inventory list to folks, they could select what they wanted and it would give them a total and deduct from my stock that was left so that other folks would see that there was only X # left, etc... All I would have to do is input new stock and pricing. That's what I have in mind, so if anyone knows of something that is cheap/free like that - or how to go about making one myself... I would be utterly grateful!!

My area has some sort of update and its BAD! I have tried 2 stores, 3 different times, different cashier registers. I KNOW I am doing all the right things, so its NOT human error. My whiskas, clorox and tuna Qs aren't working well. The 1st q of each goes smoothly then after that they beep and the item must be selected. It is NOT a wrong barcode or scanning issue. I have tried with Jedis and their patience was appricated but made no difference. I am on my Mobile right now, but can give more info when I get back home in a few.

Hope that stays contained to the other side of the country EEK! but, hey we all know it's coming, so hopefully we'll enjoy it for as long as we can.

We've done it both ways. For awhile, I had a "list" and DH would take orders off that at work. But as others have said, it's a *lot* of work to keep updated and accurate. And even the most accurate list can't help when 8 people all want to buy the same 6 items.

We've also done the car route. Since I had to take DH to and from work (in order to keep the car so I could go shopping Big Grin), at the end of the shift, I'd load up a few totes worth of my best sellers and toss them in the back of the hatchback.

What's nice about both of these methods is that it helps bring in smaller amounts of money each day, rather than a huge amount every once in awhile (like from a GS).

That's probably a very dangerous sentence to post in this thread, but I can't bring myself to edit it. Cool

My DH occasionally has to work on ACs at work and this sounds more like the line is clogged and needs to be flushed out.

Yes, they sell well for me too. $4 a big bag. The nurses love them

On another note... I'm thinking I should've bought a car seat yesterday. I forgot to take the car seat out of DH's car before he left for work!! GRRR....
Aren't you gonna have to buy two car seats when the baby comes? Why not go ahead and buy one for your toddler now, so that you don't have to wait until he comes home from work. It's a little cooler in the mornings than late afternoon...
