Oh, I didn't mean it was just a test and then it would go away. I meant that they are testing different ways of accomplishing their goals. They need to determine what will be the best way to make their registers behave the way they want them to without too much intereference with the customer experience or the associates' scan rate. They're definately rolling something out - it's just a matter of which version of it will be universal.

This is actually something I was wondering about last night. The cashier was VERY exasperated to have to scroll through my (long) list of items purchased to find that ONE item the coupon was valid on. Doesn't seem to be a very effective method. Seems like the old way was much quicker, making for happy customers. nod Big Grin

Too many happy customers IMO. When the numbers were low it probably wasn't a problem, but as more and more people use q's it's bound to prompt a change. I'm gonna put together a run that consists of all numbers to see what's up at my stores.

I think the big issue (aside from the "fix" of the b2's and b3's) is the limiting of x number of MQ's. That is going to be a PITA for all involved.

I bet you're right - unless all these people reporting back got the same kiss of death (but since they weren't doing identical runs we can't tell what's what yet).

That list choosing thing seems contradictory to T's scan rate grading system. If they go with the choosing off a list thing, cashiers are gonna hate couponers even more.

RE: Febreeze

I've searched this thread and the regular T thread.

Is there any deal going on with Febreeze other than the rebate? Didn't see a TQ to match up with the BOGO in the RP.

TIA

I am a "light-weight" Target shopper. JMS (16 and 19) is too big for me and thus, I send 16's and 19's to Mary and Jane who wear the sizes. Wink

Yesterday, I went to the Target by me. I haven't been to that Target for weeks since my $5/2 Benedryl MQ deducted $2.29 (instead of $5) a few weeks ago. These were the exact items that I bought:
6 x Old Spice Body Wash @ $3.54/1
5 x Carefree pantiliners @ $.99/1
10 x SoBe @ $.99/1

These were the coupons I had in the order that I wanted to be scanned:
3 x Old Spice BOGO MQ
5 x $1/1 Carefree MQ
3 x $1/2 Old Spice TQ (peelies on the bottles)
10 x $.50/1 Sobe TQ

After scanning 2 Old Spice BOGO MQs (INF, and selected the free item price), the third one showed "Coupon limit exceeded." No matter what the cashier and the supervisor did, the register would not take the 3rd BOGO MQ.

We proceeded to the 5 x $1/1 Carefree MQ and I already antipicated beeps (for INF) because of the value ($1 > $.99). The system did beep and showed INF. When the supervisor hit the K1 key, here is the shocker. The register automatically took off 10 cents!!! Not matter how many times we scanned the MQ, which side of the barcode we scanned, or whatever, the register took off 10 cents for the coupon after K1.

$.50/1 Sobe Water TQs beeped after a few of them and the register stopped taking more.

I abandoned the entire transaction and made the supervisor close the entire checkout lane and gave her and her cashier a lecture on customer service and coupons for some of the stupid comments they made about why my coupons scanned funny.

I subsequently drove to another Target farther from me and did the exact same transaction with the exact same coupons. Everything went well, as expected. 01 showed INF and needed to have the free item price selected. Carefree $1/1 MQs showed INF but were K1'ed to take off $1/1. All the TQs went through without beeps.

Conclusion - Target needs to fix up their register system. Whatever updates they are working on are a mess, at least for a light-weight shopper who stick to my Mickey Mouse MQs and TQs.

I have no idea if there's a deal going on, but did you search the correctly spelled word? It's Febreze not Febreeze

I don't know about corporate policy, but recently my store here started limiting me to 6 identical MQs per transaction.

Stores here try to say there's a limit but that limit changes depending on who got some the night before. No official coupon limits have been enforced.

I know someone posted new ammendmants to the Workbench policy and it shows examples of what the screen might look like to the cashier. (kind of a "how to" for them) The page is so blackened on the image I can't read the wording but it seems to be similar to the SOD (screen of doom) some have seen.

I plan on going out shortly and seeing what's up at stores near me. Unfortunately that will only tell me how it is in the moment since it could change by the minute.

I'm not one to "call" but I honestly think that we might want to start filling out receipt surveys and calling corp to complain as we encounter stores where the register won't take perfectly legit coupons or where it is limiting you to a number of coupons. If nobody complains, they will think their update is a success, but if they start hearing from people, they will (hopefully) make corrections to align it with their Q policy. And I'm not meaning to call and say, "I went into target and tried to use 500 coupons and the register wouldn't take them" but more along the lines of "I bought 10 items and tried to use five $1 off coupons and the register would only take 2".

I haven't had a chance to shop in the last 2 days (and probably won't for the next 3-4 days), but I plan to tell them that kmart and walmart are happy to take my coupons (shhhh, don't laugh at that one Coverlaugh) and I plan to shop at those stores if I'm going to have problems with the register taking simple coupons on each.and.every.visit.

6 coupons is a ridiculously low limit for a cartful at T. I don't have any ST's in my area but I know if I could buy my groceries there I probably would and that would increase my coupons dramatically. I probably used 25 mfr Q's last time I went to Kroger and only one "beeped." If T limits us to 6 coupons per transaction theyn I guess they want me to break my orders up and slow down their registers.
