One local paper had the Target insert, one didn't.
We didn't get a single Target insert but a friend and I got about 40ish papers at the recycle bin. We had the Parade with the Pantene and 37000 coupons in it.

Kids r so cute..They can get excited about such little things in life...I had promised new princess panties for DD if she stops wearing pull-ups at night..She has been dancing everyday that she is getting new panties...And last night she slept with her new pack besides her...laugh out loud

Wave gud mornin everyone...
That is so cute, both DD's were that way with new panties. Was a great incentive to stay dry.

I was going to check my store today, but it looks like I'm home bound again. Dumb legs keep swelling up!!! If no one else has tried and I get out tomorrow, I'll let ya'll know. Today, I am organizing my q's and getting about 27 "shops" ready. I've got a lot of work to do at Kroger/Wags/T!
Faint I would die! That is a amazing number of shops to do before the baby! Superman

Quote from .teri. :
I just saw something on tv that I've never seen before. A comercial about whooping cough in infants and how they usually catch it from a family member, so now they are offering the Adult Pertussis vaccination. So I wonder if this vaccination takes the place of the one the baby usually gets?

Have any of you got this vaccination?
IIRC babies have to be a certian age to get the vaccination themselves so before they get the vaccination it is very wise for all adults/children that will be around the baby to have had or get the vaccination. I did get the vaccination and so did DH. Both girls were ok because they were up to date with vaccinations.

Actually they have been pushing several adult vacs lately due to the increase in adult preventable diseases. They tell you to get the dtap (pertussis and tetanus) along with the MMR (measles and mumps) as an adult. Vaccines don't give lifelong immunity and they are finding this out the hard way.

No this does not replace the infant vaccine, children still need to be immunized. I got these a few years back with my regular physical. Hu, a lot of insurance co. will not cover adult vacs!
My tetnus, MMR and hepatitis vaccines are all up to date as I work in a hospital, but I guess the adult pertussis version got by me. DS was not able to get the pertussis vaccination due to his health problems and probably still can't. I'd have to research it first before I got it and he definitely won't get it.

Gross but fascinating too, kind of like a car-wreck.

And those carts felt like more hassle than they were worth.
[snip]

Oh, maybe you ought to stop by Wags or better yet send your DH to pick up a pair of those free after RR lotion infused socks. They feel so yummy.
Ha ha - exactly like a car wreck. And I'm tempted to go get the socks with everyone oohing and aahing over them in the Wags thread! I'm not sure my beloved hubby would have the patience to find them... lol. Although, maybe if I called and said "I'm pregnant, heard these socks are great, could you hold a pair for my hubby to pick up for me since I can't get out..." maybe that would work...

I kind of wondered about the carts too. I think I'd get frustrated if it took me even longer to shop. Plus, you'd have to be getting up and down a lot anyways - getting stuff off of shelves, etc... *sigh* There's just no easy way around it I guess.

you bring up a good point. I wonder how manufactures feel about this update? If I use a coupon for $3 and it autos to $2 Target just made and extra dollar from the manufacture. Would that constitute fraud on T's part?
Quote from bblueskye :
I vaguely remember that target (and other large retailers) submit for Q redemption electronically. I think they need to keep the physical coupons for a period of time just in case they are asked for them, but I think the actual amt they are submitting to the coupon clearinghouse is what is scanned.
I kind of had these 2 thoughts. I was under the impression that WM was submitting electronically, but T was not - however, if that has changed that could be part of the whole update and whatnots. *shrug* Wish we knew somehow. Not that it would do anything for us, but for me - it's a nosey thing. *laugh* I find it a fascinating process - coupon redemption.

You can look up the upc's on amazon. Scroll down to the bottom and it gives you the asin and upc codes.
Wow, that's awesome - I did not know that before!

Hope you feel better ankhug And that it's nothing but regular near-end-of-pregnancy stuff, but be careful!
Yeah, with the itching and the fact that i"ve been getting some headaches (not the all out "worst-one-in-your-life headache they say is a big sign of pre-e, but still annoying/more than normal) it makes me wonder. So... I'm hanging out and really trying to not push it.

Quote from gatorcater :
I went to 4 wags today and not a single one had the blistex in stock. I only managed to get 2 socks and 2 blistop things. Last week, they didn't even stock the gillette bw! I can't believe how much competition there is for stock and that some stores don't limit even a little bit. Never have/had that problem at T. Most of the time, I was battling myself for stock! laugh out loud
Well - you are doing better than me so far!! Big Grin Wave

*laugh* I am probably exaggerating... a bit...

Although, it wouldn't be too hard to do at Kroger - they let me do back to back transactions.

I probably won't manage more than 1 T shop per week. Frown

*laugh* Good for you!

Maybe I"ll have to make Kmart a regular now...

Oh - and I am *right now* watching the whooping cough commercial - first time I've seen it!

I've been in the delayed vax camp... Freaks out DH's family, but it's working okay for us. Kids haven't had 1/3 of the illnesses and problems that the rest of the cousins have had. Definitely a controversial subject though. I used to be of the "no vax" mindset for a while, but after doing lots of research I'm a bit more comfy with a delayed schedule than none at all.

So I responded to a Craigslist posting for a legal researcher. It definitely seems legit but he wants to pay my hourly rate via paypal. Is that suspicious? It's pathetic that I have to disprove that something is a scam before I am willing to consider it. shake head

It seems no matter how much I try and plan and clip and print I rarely get more than one T shop a week. I am wishing you superwoman strength to pull it off. bounce

I don't think it is pathetic at all. There are way to many dishonest people on Craigslist. Seems strange to me.

So I was really hoping that T Visa was going to pay Hertz for my rental car over vacation, but that looks to be unlikely...anyways, went on Priceline just now. Did the "Name your own price" option and put in $15.00 per day for a full size car. LMAO Priceline came back and said $35 Good chance; $36 great chance. So I raised to $20 per day and it got accepted! Whee full size car, 9 days in fl for $249.51 inc. tax. Now I feel better about the day... Alright, good night. Smilie

I was wondering about the coupon redemption process as well. Found some articles from 2009.

http://www.iheartcvs.com/2009/06/...-work.html

er1ca's page

http://www.southernsavers.com/200...edemption/

This link referenes How Stuff Works, as well as one of the clearinghouses NCH.

a discussion at AFC about this

Quote :
Some facts about coupons:

* Over 330 billion manufacturer paper coupons are issued in the US annually, with a total value of more than $300 billion.
* Almost 4 billion individual coupons are redeemed by consumers annually.
* A coupon has an average face value of 84 cents.
* Over 100,000 US retail companies accept coupons at their individual store locations.
* Coupons are legal tender in the US.
* The redemption process by which retailers are reimbursed by the manufacturer is outsourced to processing agents.
There were some articles about some companies already switching to electronic coupon clearinghouses, Bi-Lo for example, haven't seen Target yet.

setsail - interesting info!

It looks like the stats are around 1% from those articles, and I wonder what they are *now*. Even though I've noticed more folks using coupons - I haven't noticed that many extra coupon users - and certainly not many at the level that SDers coupon. I have noticed more folks willing to buy clearance and markdowns.

Ugh... or has some "questionable" clientele with "questionable" funds??

*laugh* see how easy it is to get paranoid and not trust anyone!?!? I would definitely ask though - cuz it seems weird IMO. Hopefully you'd be signing some kind of contract of something so that you can ensure you'll be paid.

EEK! Nasty storm just started.

Ugh. Wish I had some soda.

ank, we're of the delayed vaccine camp as well. The older kids all had all vaccinations, on schedule and on time. Had a big mind change before my youngest was born a few years ago. Smilie
