dia Tongue about the Southern cornbread being lame. There is nothing better than hot, crusty cornbread fresh out of an old ironn skillet Faint That sweet "cake" cornbread will NOT come near my peas laugh out loud

Teri, dd was induced on her due date since her due date was labor day ( Teehee) and my doc was leaving for a week. I was already so swollen I couldn't wear shoes and my BP was creeping up along with my anxiety laugh out loud going into labor on your own is WAAAAY easier though. I hope she can avoid the induction is possible and I agree it's way off for the dr. to already be scheduling it Crazy

one of my fav. pork chop recipes involves lightly breading them with sage, salt, pepper, and flour. Pan fry just until browned, then add a can of cream of mushroom soup over all of it and simmer until done. YUMMO over a bed of rice Wink

I have an abundance of them and grilling them/baking them is getting OLD quick!!! TIA
My Dad's favorite way for me to fix them was pepper them good in a casserole dish with a lid. Cover with a can of Cream of Mushroom soup and put the lid on and throw it in the oven. Take the lid off about 20 minutes before serving so it can brown a bit... serve with homemade mashed potatoes and use the soup drippings as gravy.
I haven't made this since my Dad died, but Licklips sounds pretty good.

Could somebody please come to my house, cut my coupons, organize them, drive to the store, shop for me, bring all the goodies back to my house and then put them all away someplace?

Pretty please? Please

I think each kind of cornbread is good in it's own way and for its own purposes!

Although... if anyone is offering to do the shopping - I've got the q's clipped, organized, and lists made. I just don't want to go to the store.

My doctor was scheduled to go on vacation the week of my due date. She gave me the option to try to induce the week before so she could be there or to wait for the baby to come on its own and risk having someone else. She didn't pressure me one way or the other and said the doctor filling in for her was great.

I waited until much closer to the due date to make any decision and as my son was already quite large according to ultrasounds I chose to try to induce. Though it actually didn't work. They had me on the highest dose possible and I was barely having the occasional cramp that wasn't even painful. They said at the dose I was at they should have been scraping me off the ceiling. Ultimately I had a C-Section a few days before she left for vacation. But my reasoning was a combination of his size (9#11oz), the fact I had pre-eclampsia and to a degree that I wanted my doctor their just in case their were complications.

Even with my experience, I would be VERY Leary of a doctor forcing a decision like that so early.
Thanks, I think a discussion with the doctor is in order. He's delivered many of our family members and is a good doc, but I am not comfortable with this at all.

ya know, If I plug your address into my gps and leave now, I could be there in time for a late dinner LMAO. I've been thinking about those peas for a week now and I want some, and I want you to cook them along with hot corn bread, tomato relish (or homemade B&B pickles) and some nice cold Iced Tea. And please serve the pork chops too yummy

I've also been craving some pan fried bream, cheese grits, home made hushpuppies, cole slaw and baked beans too!

I can't believe a doctor would suggest induction at the first appointment! That's crazy. There are plenty of medical reasons, and even non-medical reasons that arise closer to delivery, but that early on it just shouldn't even be discussed. I live an hour from my doctor's hospital and was so worried that I'd be sitting in rush hour traffic and have my baby on the side of the highway. I mentioned it every visit. Finally, my doc said if I'm that worried, she would consider scheduling it for me since I was so clearly stressed over it. In the end, I didn't (and I'm glad). My water broke at 4 AM and I was at the hospital by 6. My co-worker was offered a scheduled delivery as well, but that was because her doctor was going to be on vacation during her due date. So again, even non-medical reasons can make sense, but without any prompting from the patient, I'd be very leery of it.

On a lighter note - Happy 4th of July weekend all! Loving today's gorgeous weather but kind of dreading the heat and humidity kicking in tomorrow. Still better than rain though!

Bread them in Ritz crackers. Most delicious thing ever!!! Dip them in an uncooked egg, then dip in Ritz Crackers, then bake them. SOOOO SOOOO good,

I have a question for the new mommies in here. This has been bothering me to no end and I don't know if something has changed since I had DD and DS or if it's just the doctor.

She is due on the 17th, and the doctor has told her to pick a day between the 10th and 14th to induce. I'm like Huh???? Why is he already planning to induce ( she's only 5 months along)?? Is he just scheduling deliveries so that he's not called out in the middle of the night? Is this for his convenience or is there a medical reason for this? Why put her through a hard fast labor if it's not necessary? And why subject her to drugs that she may not need? Is this something new?
I was induced but the doctor planned it like a week before before my due date...Infact I would always keep asking my doctor if I would have a c-section or be induced and she always said, we cannot decide now, only time will tell...

But I do know that a lot of women now want to plan the birth dates acc to their convenience (wouldn't even mind a c-section) Dontknow So maybe the doctors do that too...But that's so not right....
