Here is another example of people saying that this is easily compatible with a Microsoft Surface. Putting this bare drive in a Surface will result in random restarts from overheating. Surface SSDs are in an enclosure that takes the heat from the top side of the SSD to the base of the enclosure, the heat is then passed to the chassis. There's even an expanded contact area on the Surface chassis under the SSD. The only way to do it right is to get yourself another Surface SSD and gut the enclosure to install this new drive. 128GB Surface SSDs with the enclosure can be found on eBay for about $10.

you can buy this for 158-160 range on amazon from other sellers, still ships from amazon. ebay also have lower prices as well.
