I was looking for a cheap, disposable soldering iron for very small plastic welding jobs—things like repairing small toys and retro game consoles. I use plastic zip ties to melt and create the weld. It seems to work pretty well, but my instincts tell me it's a pretty half-ars way of doing things. 😂

Obviously, I'm not going to use a $3 soldering iron without temperature control for anything important or thermally sensitive.
I have a Hakko FX888D for that, and I don't want to ruin it. So, this cheap $3 soldering iron seems ideal for small plastic welding jobs—half-baked as they may be.
