These non-inverter generators use a rotating machine to create the sine wave power, so it is a true sine wave output. However, since it is driven by a combustion motor the frequency can vary. My Westinghouse of the same size runs everything I need... battery backups, router, computers, central AC, furnace, fridge, TV etc. The only issue I had is that the frequency was set to around 63 hz and my battery backup complained. I used a screwdriver and adjusted the frequency (using the built-in display) til it was centered on 60hz and then the battery backup was happy. Occasionally the frequency would vary when a heavy load came on or off and the battery backup would momentarily beep, but would quickly recover and keep everything running. I recommend running your electronics on a battery backup anyway, and in this case it smooths out any issues with generator variation.

I purchased two of these from Costco in 2022 and installed one at my home and one at my sons. Other than routinely starting to keep the battery charged. Then Hurricane Helene came last September. They both ran for 8 days straight without a hitch. We both have natural gas service. We used extension cords to run whatever we needed. I won't go on record stating that it won't affect sensitive electronics, but it was fine for refrigerators, washing machine, microwave, etc.
At this price, I would take a chance, especially if you are blessed to have natural gas.

This seems to be a non-inverter generator? Does anyone have any issues running "modern appliances/electronics" (frige/tv/modem/router/switch/ps5/window AC) on these non-inverter generators?

I have this generator, and it is very convenient to be able to use it with natural gas or propane. I have never used it with gasoline because I didn't want to worry about gas gumming up the carburetor or having to empty the old gas out.

We haven't had to use it much, but it was nice to have when we did lose power.

Also, I think the current price at Costco is higher, $699 was a sale price.

What equipment did you power using this model? Any issues with the 'dirty' power?

Note the manufacturer warranty is only 90 days, but ebay seems to be extending a 2 year Allstate warranty on top.

You will get a much older generation that will swear these are the devil to electronics... You will get a younger generation that believed everything their gram pappy said and they will preach that these are the devil as well.... The truth is , now in 2025 almost all common electronics (tv's , computers, etc etc) are intelligent enough to adjust for slight variables in voltage drop. The city's power literally fluctuates as well.. That being said, it is always wise to use common sense when turning ON all supplemental power (generator and inverter alike). Shut everything down first.. Fire up the generator and then turn on equipment in sequence.

11%-14% THD at full load, I wouldn't run any sensitive electronics on it

Ran three refridgerators and two freezers during a local power event. No issues. Ran for three days with breaks per the manual.

It's going to vary. You actually want a no load to be 62 or 62.5 because a load (50-80%) will slow the engine to roughly 60 hz. You do not want to run less than 1000 watts continuous on this thing. For non inverter generators, you actually want to run them with a load. Inverter generators will auto throttle down, these will not....

Knowing a few master electricians from multiple generations.. they only agree on 1 thing.. inverter generators produce "cleaner power"... I've personally never known anyone loose a sensitive electronic device to a standard portable generator.. that being said, what's it worth to the individual I guess..? File a claim on homeowner's.. just go out and buy another appliance potentially..? Whole home back-up generators typically produce around 5% THD, which is on the top end of what's recommended.. so I guess that should tell one everything they need to know.. If you're counting on a generator of any variety to keep your lifestyle rocking semi-frequently, probably best to go with one that has a THD on the lower end. Either way, this is as solid of a deal on a generator this size, as you will probably find. Thanks OP

Quite a deal for a tri-fuel generator. Since most people use them rarely, it's far better to use NG or LP since they won't gunk up the carburetor like stale gas will. An inverter genny is better (mainly because of fuel efficiency) but for most practical uses this one will do just fine and be way less expensive.

The concern with THD/dirty power mostly applies to large AC motors staring up (i.e. air conditioner), particularly when they're a heavy load that lags the generator. That lowers frequency which can delay motor startup when it's pulling surge current...cooking it with the prolonged over-current.

TL;DR this is fine vs inverter but don't run a 5T AC compressor on it.

I have this generator and love it. This is a great price on a tri-fuel. I only run it on propane and NG. It's a must in areas with frequent black outs and weather events like hurricanes. Never had an issue running household appliances or internet cable modem or charging phones and laptops.
