why are you presuming to speak for everyone, as if you know everyone's needs? many people do not have an existing system, but are only exploring backup or energy savings for the first time. did that ever occur to you? what are you even doing in this thread if you think ecoflow is such a joke?
doesn't need to be outside, because the dpu is *quiet*, unlike much of the diy aio inverters out there. if i bought some of the eg4 stuff, i would need to put it outside in the cold, so i wouldn't have to listen to the hair dryer-like screaming fans all the time.
proprietary design, blah, blah, blah. you can plug in whatever sort of solar panels you want to it, even smaller ones to start out with. many aio's require a minimum of 120 volts or more just to get the solar going. you only need 80 with the ecoflow dpu for the high pv input.
once you have at least one ef battery paired with the inverter, you don't have to buy any more. you can add whatever cheap storage you want to it, if you're so inclined. you can buy a cheap 12v 100 ah battery for extra capacity, or you can buy any sort of server rack battery, or the 14.3 kwh wall mount eg4 battery someone mentioned earlier. all of that can feed the ecoflow if you want.
you are such a presumptuous prick, that i wouldn't want to deal with you or your company for a solar system. i don't need your help anyhow, i can do diy, or a combination of diy + ecoflow if i want. you apparently aren't invested in the ecoflow system, and yet you are here pushing your viewpoint, so aren't you proof that some of the folks on this thread (like you) are not substantially invested in ecoflow? so why do you make assumptions that folks like me are so invested in ecoflow, when you're here and apparently are not invested?
what about the fella who suggested eg4 was a better value. is he so heavily invested in ecoflow too? stop making assumptions and presuming to know what's best for everyone. if you don't like ecoflow, i don't care.
so, what are you doing here then?

so, you could get theoretically get the inverter refurb, plus this new battery for $3198, which is cheaper than the lowest i've seen on the refurb inverter + battery bundle at $3394 on ecoflow store on e.b.a.y, and with this you at least get a brand new battery.
even less than $3198 for the combo, if you have a home depot coupon you can use in conjunction with this sale.

This is 6kwh for 1600.
The EG4 is a better value and with more features.

the eg4 lacks one key feature, for those who already have an ecoflow delta pro ultra inverter. (the only people who would be interested in this deal).
that is....a way to charge it back up! your eg4 battery does not come with a charger built-in, now does it? and, how exactly do you intend to run the inverter off the external eg4 battery? by feeding it into the pv input of the ecoflow, simulating solar? then you have to sacrifice at least one solar input. and the ecoflow will not calculate your solar intake correctly, because it is receiving simulated solar from the battery.
this ecoflow battery is fully integrated with the matching inverter, and can be charged via ac or solar via the unit. how am i gonna do that with your "better value" eg4 battery? furthermore, since it connects to the dpu not via the solar input, you can charge and discharge the battery without sacrificing any solar input, and you can track your solar intake data properly.
also, this battery sits neatly below the inverter, which stacks on top of it. if you can't figure out why some folks would want this battery, which matches and integrates with their delta pro ultra inverter seamlessly, then i can't help you.

$1600 new battery + $1800 refurbished inverter = $3400
vs
$3400 both refurbished (ebay).
I wonder if this is eligible for the 30% tax credit
