iOS App Redesign

I'm sure I'll get used to the look of the app redesign eventually, but unless I'm missing something, there's nothing labeling new posts as "new" anymore. So now I don't know if I've seen everything that's been posted since the last time I opened the app.

I am not a fan of the new iOS app at all. Did they not hire a UX expert before doing this. Everything is harder to read and unintuitive. The list of deals and scrolling through comments is much less efficient (see a lot, fewer deals and comments on the screen so it's a ton of wasted space). Take it back to the old design till you get this figured out, please

Hi! Thanks for the feedback! You should see the "New" badges on the Popular and Frontpage feeds once you pull down to refresh the feed. You do correctly point out that we used to have a "See New" indicator in the feeds on the Legacy App that would prompt you to refresh. We will take this note! I hope you are enjoying the new experience and please let us know if you have any other feedback.

Thanks for the feedback! Noted on the density of the feed, we have received other similar comments - so we will look to do something about that along with making text-size options more intuitive.

Also noted on the commenting experience. That will be an area of focus for us in the next few weeks.

Nope, I've tried several times today and not once has a "New" badge been on any deal. It's showing up on the mobile site, but not in the iOS app.

I completely agree about it being difficult to scroll through everything now too. The larger pictures on the deal pages are great, but everything else just looks awful. I'm not sure exactly what to pinpoint, but it looks less user friendly. Everything below the picture and description seems oversized. Honestly it reminds me of some of the awful iOS changes they tried to do a few years ago that they later reversed course on.

I'm sorry, but this new layout looks amateurish. Hoping there's some configuration I haven't found yet to make it look like it did before because after almost 20 years of using the site I'm going to be looking elsewhere.Only good thing is the spinning circles seem to be ads that aren't loading 😏

I'm not seeing the 'new' labels on anything anymore like I used to in the app. Really kinda killing my user experience here. Just go back to the old version please or give us an option to switch back. Also the extra steps to get through the comments is horrible. Also my phone is getting really hot while using the app for some reason. This just sucks….. at this rate it's gonna be rip Slickdeals for me 🥺

Worst app redesign. Should have just left it. Too many pictures. So bulk and have to scroll so much. Give users to revert back to old design so they can see the forum threads and titles easier like on the computer. Completely worst design.

It's literally the worst redesign in history lol. Wow makes me not want to use this app anymore and try to use via mobile web.

As a web / mobile app developer, I feel like this update is bad in terms of UI. There is not much organization. Posts are simply separated by a horizontal line. It's like looking at a big wall of text. This new app reminds me of websites from the 90s. I understand once a company is committed, they will just stick with the design, but I strongly suggest consulting a good UI company to help improve this app.

Also hate this iOS redesign. It feels insanely cluttered in all the wrong ways. The value of SD has always been in the forum comments and it makes it so hard to sift through now.It feels to me like they hired a developer who only designed the UX based on larger sized models or maybe even iPad. I don't even enjoy opening deal alerts anymore. I don't need a giant picture to pop up. Slickdeals has never been about the pictures.

Yup same thoughts. There's no way to revert back. How could this ever go through to production. So crazy. Revert back or allow users to change back as an option!!! It's so confusing and not seamless. Big spaced out deals, not like the compact old days of the forum.

I agree with a lot of people here. It's not compact enough and the separation of items/deals/comments aren't strong enough, so it feels like I'm scrolling through a document of text and images rather than intentionally separate blocks of items.

Cant get app to remember my settings for stuff like "sort by" on comments. I want to see the latest comments and have it remember my change. Also the overall UI is just not good. Was this beta tested with public users? 😂
