Is it for gaming or other work? If you're just gaming, I would not recommend the 265F CPU together with a 5080. If you're the type to get a new pc every 3-5 year and want to save as much as possible, the. Alienware.
Is Alienware though still using proprietary motherboards that make building new PCs in the same alienware or moving the board to a new case difficult?

For gaming purposes, does PS5 Pro check enough boxes that someone does not need to spend $2k+ on computer? Serious question if PS5 Pro is not enough for casual gamer to take full advantage of graphics or does PC gaming offer even better graphics for same games? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am pretty behind in gaming/graphics cards, I am still at 1650ti Acer Nitro 5 and PS4 when it comes to gaming..

Forget what I said, this is the answer I guess: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H0sZcP31-Y can't believe how much better the game looks on PC.
It should look better considering that PC costs 3x more than the console. That's like saying you're shocked that a Corvette drives faster than a Camry lol.

Honestly would buy, but I'd much rather have a 9800x3d.

Most of the postings are fake and "ships for free" scammers from members joining in 2024. They're all bots. The real 5080 or 5090 postings are all with scalped prices and 100% markups

This is completely false. Nobody can even get rid of them for MSRP near me in my area.Unless you think the guys selling them at MSRP with 10 year old Facebook accounts, 100+ feedback are scammers?

100% markups… most models are $1,400+ tax now MSRP. They sit on Microcenter shelves for a while and failed scalpers are trying to sell at MSRP. There's even the $1,000 PNY model 5080's around me going for $1,200 which is $120 above MSRP.

I got my PNY 5080 for retail price after a scalper had it priced too high for too long and was desperate to get rid of it since he needed to pay bills after getting a 5090

The 285 for gaming and live streaming is a better buy. But I game at 4k so none of these really matters.

I'd also advocate avoiding the Alienware because of its proprietary components. Previously owned an Alienware PC whose motherboard failed out-of-warranty. l couldn't just put in a new motherboard, also had to get a new case, new CPU cooler and PSU to salvage it.

Heatsink or liquid cooler should be moveable. Regardless I would only recommend the dell if you can save 10% + 10% + $200+ on the Dell then it may be worth it.

Absolute cope. Enjoy your panic-induced overpriced PC.
It really isn't a panic buy. Price will shift up. Importers have to raise price to survive. Jobless rate is going to go up.

Sure if there's inelastic demand but this is a gaming PC not an everyday essential item.

This is good deal considering there is no way in earth you can get hands on 5080 or 5090
That statement id half correct. I had the opportunity to buy a Zotac 5090 at my local Microcenter because I was the 1st person in line there yesterday. Waited about 3 hours before they brought out a list if what they had in store. I passed on the 5090 because 3k after tax was too much for me to spend on 1 single component. I ended up getting the flagship tier 9070xt red devil Ltd edition. 1 of 2 they had. I also spent about $2500 on there on my build. I did a 7700x bundle but the red devil demands 900 watts so I had to spend more on a larger 1000 watt psu. I also bought 2 4tb samsung Evo plus drives m.2. For what us being offered this is a great deal. 1 because it's really hard to get a 5080 and 2 it's a decent list of kit. Msi is pretty darn good and if I hadn't allready bought all my parts I would be all over this. Including a legitimate copy of windows 11 also makes this a worthwhile deal. Plus this has a amd processor in it so it should redeem you a free copy of Monster hunter Wilds.the gpu should redeem you a free copy of assassin's creed shadows. Now does it sound like a good deal. I think the answer is yes.

You need to pay monthly fees to play online on PS5 and game deals are scarce compared to those you get from PC. That alone makes PC a better choice not counting this PC would run way better frames than a console would and a PC would do more than just gaming. The only real argument for consoles to me are exclusives. I had to buy a PS5 to play God of war and elden ring on launch for example.

EDIT: Also, comparing this to the Alienware, I'd take this for the fact that Alienware likes to skimp on motherboards and even use proprietary connectors in some of their systems making it a hassle to upgrade or replace a dead motherboard or PSU. Unless sales rep confirmed that everything is standard, I wouldn't think about the Alienware.
