You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

Thanks for reply. I am not sure what happened. Maybe this promotion is only for new customer to total wireless?

that is what I got when check for eligibility
The number _____ is not eligible for this offer.
But don't worry. You still have options
Yw. Oh that I am not sure but you still should be able to port your number. You said you were with total wireless for a couple of months? Are you trying to get this deal for Iphone? You can try to use another number to port and it should work. Let me chat with Total wireless and see what they say. I want to know too.

So I chatted with Total Wireless and this is what they said:
Me:My friend was with total wireless a couple of months an then he ported out to cricket and now there is a new promo and he wants to port back but the system won't let him port back
Agent:Agent: I see. It might be the reason since she has an existing account with us already. I am sorry about this, whether the number is eligible is determined by the system.
Me:So how many months can you port back to total wireless for a new promo like 1 year?
Agent:I am sorry about this, we can only give it a try and see if the number is eligible with the promotion.
Me: Oh I see thank you
Agent:You're welcome. I would recommend to check the number from time to time. We also have available phones on the website that you can purchase at affordable prices.
Me: ok thanks again
Agent:You're welcome.

I hoped I help you. So it depends on the system from what the agent said. How stupid is this.

I appreciate your help with trying to find a solution. I guess they may have some business logic , algorthim etc in their system to check back the history. Perhaps I am still in their system and considered as old customer, which disqualifies me the promotion. Thanks again

Yw. I am glad that I help you Smilie. Ahhh now that you said that it is probably it is in their system that is why you can't get that promotion and now that make sense now. I suggest that in the future if you see a promo that you like especially Apple Iphones I would wait like 6 months or a 1 year until they don't have your number in their system.

I had AT&T prepaid before and I move to Verizon Post paid and then I can still log back in to AT&T and it is into 6 months and they still have me in the system. Around 10 or 11th month I log back into AT&T they show me that I am on AT&T prepaid anymore. I can switch back to AT&T postpaid like 1 year or so and then buy a phone from AT&T again because they will not have my number in their system because it has been taken off their system. So it takes a long time for the system to show you are not with them anymore even you are ported out before.

So you ported from another carrier and it worked. Were you with Total Wireless before? I had Total Wireless before but it was a new phone number just for "testing purposes" and then I left Total Wireless. Now with my original number I can port to Total Wireless because of the Iphone 13 promotion. I never had a Iphone before so this will be my 1st phone.

Ordered one fine but a second order has been cancelled (twice). Spoke to Total support and they said they are cancelling orders due to volume of orders. I.e., they are sold out.

Wow they are selling like hot cakes. If online is sold out then go to the Total Wireless to get one or two and see if they let you or not.

When I ordered the phone a week or so ago, I briefly saw something about free Disney+ for 6 months. I've since activated my line but I haven't received any information about how to claim the Disney+ offer. Has anyone done this and can share what the process is?

Yes there was a iPhone 11 promo last year with TW we opted in for the two months and then ported out to USM in August. I tried porting back to TW 2 weeks ago and tested the number and it said it would let me but we didn't go ahead with it. Now it's says the number is not eligible

Most cashback doesn't include plans. This is essentially 100% a plan purchase. Good luck.
They always say that but in reality most of the times it makes no difference

After prepaying the 3-month at $55/mo can I switch to their base $40/mo plan? that is stretch the 3-month to 4-month? Also, why would you just get the phone and wait for 2-month? wouldn't that just wasted 2-month worth of pay?

Is the bootloader of this phone locked? I don't want to have the total wireless junk after it unlocks.
