I would update the title to 1st base/catchers glove. The one linked in the OP is a 1st base glove. There is a catcher option for slightly less.

Thanks Smilie
I opened the thread ready to purchase, but my kids play outfield / shortstop. Too short for 1st base lol

Purchased this deal a few weeks back and took about 2 hours with oil, little heat, dumbbell, and ball mallet and it's game ready. Awesome glove for my 8 year old at 1st base. It was a little loose so I did a little re stringing on the wrist area where some have Velcro and got it a tad tighter. I think it would have been ok had I not been wearing it so much during break in process.

This thing is amazing for the price. I bought it (the catchers mitt) last year for my 9 year old, he's used and abused it for a whole season (preferring it over his other mitt), and it is still in great shape.

Bought this glove used a few years ago for 40 and a resale store. Great for kids that occasionally play 1st base. Any decent glove is a steal at this price.

The 12.5 first base mit is plenty big for me. It doesn't have the youth fit hand pocket

A deal on a new adult catchers glove is not easy to find. Look for a used one on eBay. I had to do this when my son starting pitching with real velocity. At some point, you can't take the sting anymore using a regular glove. And get a budget catchers mask on Amazon to protect your eyes, nose, and teeth!

These are technically youth gloves. I have the first base mitt and wear an adult medium glove. It fits me fine.

I try to always note this in ball glove deal threads: unless you're playing high enough level or picky enough that you absolutely want to get new, do yourself a favor and check eBay for used models.

Last year, I wanted to pick up some gloves to have for catch when my friends and I had summer park days. I played travel softball for a while back in the day and am partial to the Louisville Slugger TPS line, but those are $150-200 new. I checked eBay and was able to pick up three lightly-used models in varying lengths (including one LHT) for $20-40 apiece. I did my normal break-in process, and now all of them are soft and comfortable.

I think a lot of people get nice gloves, use them a couple times, then just throw them in the closet for years before selling them during a cleanup. The ones I bought had strong folds from being stored flat a long time, but nothing some water, baby oil, and time couldn't fix.

1st base is usually played by a left hander, no wonder this is on sale.
