I'm struggling finding a use case with such a low threshold with non-upgradable 16gb of ram. Might struggle in some AAA gaming. Not optimal for content creation but still works. It's not that you won't be able to play any AAA games or do content creation , but at these specs, I don't know why they wouldn't make 32gb of soldered ram the standard. If it were upgradable, that's a different story. Am I wrong here?
Because Apple made it socially acceptable/mandatory for other manufacturers to skimp on memory & RAM in favor of planned obsolescence.

We collectively encouraged it by paying $1000 for a 8GB Ram/256GB SSD MacBook Air, or $1000+ 8GB/128GB iPhone Pro. Every product purchase is a "vote" in support of the parent company. Vote consciously.

Seems like a great deal, but I would like more RAM. Really nice though.

The ram is really the problem. I don't believe it's upgradable this is soldered. 16 GB is a little light.... That being said if you can deal with that the rest of it looks like a really great deal.

Can't be that hard to desolder the 16gb and replace it. Find a kid that can do micro soldering. There are storefronts all over Shenzhen that do this, even upgrade storage inside iPhones in less than an hour.

Check their Ebay store every day. They post them when they get 1 and they usually go quick. For mine, I checked their store about 3 times a day until 1 showed up. I don't know what their current stock is.

Decent price but I still prefer the triton 14 at the same price for a more powerful 4070, miniled display and more compact and elegant design all around.

Unless you're playing Minecraft, I struggle with the idea of 8GB vram more than 16GB system ram

Then you are going to struggle with laptop options for awhile remotely in this price range unfortunately. 4080s even refurb will be dramatically more than this, and 5070ti (think that has 12?) would make both look cheap.

Very true and so sad. This would be an incredible deal, even if it were $50-$100 more expensive if it just had 32gb. All that extra processing power and the dedicated GPU seems wasted.
