what a steal! I have several craftsman tools. While they probably wouldn't stand up to daily abuse on the job site, they are perfect for all those little projects around the house! If your kid, nephew, grandkid, etc are moving into their first house, this is the perfect present. All those little projects like hanging shelves, repainting cabinets, constructing furniture, etc will be made far easier with a nice starter set like this that all use the same battery system. Bought just the drill and circular saw set a couple years ago and use both all the time, but this would've been so nice to have

It ain't fancy, but it will get the job done! I bought a smaller set with just the drill and saw, used them on many a home project. From hanging shelves to building a chicken coop, they worked great.

Have a bunch of the craftsman v20 batteries. Many from the weed whacker bundle with the 5A battery for $60. I kept the batteries and sold the weed whacker for $50 so I have a bunch of high capacity batteries. These tools will be really useful.

Craftsman is my second system besides dewalt, and ive got a few of these things here, mix of second hand but some new. I really dont like the drill, the chuck seems crap compared to some of my dewalt drills. I just use it to mix drywall mud as a cheapo tool, i did get it second hand and jn rough shape so maybe its not representative of a new one but it just feels awful tightening bits, like you cant really trust them to stay tight(even though stuff hasnt fallen out).
I do like the sander, not great vibration control but its powerful and dependable. Jigsaw no complaints, mostly cut things with a circular and table saw. Task light is easily my most used tool, basically finds use everywhere, actually mostly non woodworking(dog needs to go out at midnight etc). Fan is alright as a little a desk fan, but not powerful if you arent right next to it. I think overall its a great deal but man the chuck on the drill feels super cheap.

Yeah man, these are great. I have a same counter set of 8, from Milwaukee i bought a while back around 550. I bought these craftsman for my Wife cause i didnt want her to use my tools. I use these regularly now, instead of my Milwaukee set since my wife leaves the tools hanging around. Dont even notice the difference. Milwaukees feel smoother though, when you push the trigger. But other than that, seamless difference if youre just a regular homeowner with repairs/diy like me.

How long ago was this? I have a weed eater And the batteries look a little different…..

The one thing I hate about this tool system is that when I try to remove the batteries from the weed eater or the charger, I have to get a pair of channel locks to press the stupid release button and pull the battery out! NEVER had a problem like that with my Ryobi!

i have a similar set and use around the house that i bought a couple years ago.no complaints although the circular saw could use a bit more power and the batterys are the smallest craftsman makes but should get you thru most projects..i ended up buying 2 of these sets today.picking them up locally later today.a few tools in it i dont have and the rest will go to my kids.and i will sell the unused extra stuff.its a great bargain for what your getting.

I bought this at X-MAs with my first house. These are not my first tools though. I worked on a Milwaukee only farm for years.
Would I take these to the farm, probably not. Farms chew tools up and spit them out.
For home use though this is great and keep an eye out for Batteries. When I bought this my Store had a 4 pack of batteries on sale for $79.

These have been great for my at home use. These are not the brushless tools which are a little stronger and quieter. I have a similar kit with circular saw oscillating tool drill and quarter inch impact driver for my home use. I have brushless quarter inch impact and drill that I use full-time auto mechanic everyday that have held up well. I would recommend picking up one of the larger batteries like 4ah if you were doing much continuous sawing.

I do have two of the batteries that I've dropped and the retaining screw mounts are broken letting the battery clip spring separate the case a bit. Don't be too rough with them and they should hold up fine for DIY
