I have this kit - neither tool will wow anyone with their power, but both are good enough to get the job done. If you're already on Makita, this is a great deal.

It's also a good deal if in the market for a makita tool only deal but need to buy the battery and charger. This kit is cheaper then a battery and charger

I have this combo and it is very well capable of weed eating and blowing. Actually if i want to conserve battery, i leave the trimmer to low setting and it can still whack weeds. The blower is just convenient and plenty powerful. Depending how you trim, If you have a big yard, 1 battery wont be enough but the rapid charger charges pretty quick.

Great deal at $144, as I paid $249 for this about a year ago from Amazon. Weed eater is great, but the blower is only going to be good for very small yards (mine is kept to blow off the covered patio and furniture....and use a much larger backpack blower for the real yard work). If not already in the Makita ecosystem, I personally think the M18 fuel Milwaukee blower is a better unit - but you won't beat this Makita combo deal if you find it for $144

Got one! Been eyeing a combo set since last year. I bought the ego set from Ace but changed my mind and never picked it up. Thought it was too expensive. This is $100 less. thanks.

I used to have the Makita whacker, got rid of it and picked up Team Red, as that's my main battery platform. Mistake. The Milwaukee is heavy, Makita is much lighter. And that's saying as a fit male.
I wouldn't do stuff like edging with the Makita, but as a whacker for suburbia, it's excellent.

Makita is the only big brand that isn't owned by a huge conglomeration of companies. Solid products from a Japanese company focused on reliability. With all the tariffs coming thru the supply chain this is a fantastic price and not likely to be repeated anytime soon.

Thanks OP! Went to my local store and they had one hiding in their cages. Can't wait to break these out tomorrow!

I've bought into the Makita ecosystem and it's been great. If this were available at a store near me I'd jump on it - over $400 in the Maryland stores in my area
