The new 60 day unlock policy starting April 1, 2025 [tfwunlockpolicy.com]
For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.
IMPORTANT: Motorola will not sell the ADP plan on this phone because it is "a Tracfone exclusive."!!!
This effectively means that the phone is disposable! If the screen breaks, there is no coverage under the standard or even extended warranty. The only coverage on the phone is a one-time replacement of the screen protector through a third-party company, uBreakiFix.
And what's worse, is that you can't even send the phone to Motorola and get it repaired by paying them. They won't repair the phone at all.

The other thing to note - these are bootloader LOCKED which doesn't seem like a big deal, but running "stock" retail US unlocked firmware is a lot better than the MVNO ones.
Basically if you buy this phone from best buy or moto direct etc - you get a "RET US" firmware (Retail USA). If you buy it from a provider like Total - you get an MVNO firmware that has a bunch of loaded bloatware, and your updates are tied to the total wireless / mvno chain, as opposed to the basic non bloated firmware chain.
You can use different sims/carriers no problem - but you will still have Total Wireless bloat and firmware.

I ordered my Moto Edge 2024 from Total Wireless in April, and the phone has SIM unlocked after 60 days of service. However, I found the *eSIM* of the phone wasn't activated and the eSIM is disabled(greyed) today and I chatted with their support, they couldn't activate/enable the eSIM on my phone.
The Moto Edge 2024 definitely has eSIM on board, so they just enabled the physical SIM but not the eSIM. I felt being fooled
Any suggestions, thanks!
