I find myself less engaged on the app which is bad for Slickdeals. Turn it back.

Here's a perfect example. How do I respond to you? I can't click reply if I'm looking at the main thread. Others:I have to click to view all comments. That wasn't necessary before. It loads slowI get errors loading oftenIt is very hard to distinguish between new and old deals

Agree 1000%. The format and overall UI is not good. Can't adjust how to sort comments and actually have it remember. Always have to click on sort by everytime.

I agree that the app redesign isn't that nice, it honestly is a downgrade. It's simpler but the spacing is so bad everything is too large, and I have to click to load more comments and there is a whole bunch of spinners on the screen. I don't think I will use the App as much as I used to as the UX of the re-design isn't that user friendly.

Please do use the feedback button/link in the app and tell the devs what you don't like and why. That truly helps them try to fix it or tweak it to make it better. They are actively checking the feedback they get from the apps and are actually working to fix the issues or tweak things to make them better. But they can't try to fix something if they don't know you don't like it. Reporting here is ok and they hopefully see it soon but using the app would be faster since that goes directly to the people working on the apps.

I see a dev did reply to you the other day in your other thread that they are working on it, so hopefully they'll have a fix for that soon. (likely not over the weekend though, sorry Frown)

I agree with the OP. The new app is less engaging. Used to check slickdeals every couple of hours previously, but hardly checking once a day after the UI redesign. Posts with 10 likes and barely couple of comments are showing as Frontpage deals - which is not okay.

That's the SD staff "promoting" those deals. i.e the company paid to be on the front page. That's been a thing for a long time.

Hi - thanks for the feedback. We are actively working on a comment experience you will be more familiar with. We have heard the feedback that the comment drawer is not the one.

Not everyone uses the app. Is anyone fixing the rubbish website redesign version? And YES, I submit all the time using FEEDBACK but nothing seems to get fixed. It's actually getting worse.

I'm rather irritated with the recent changes to deal threads, to the point where I'm considering leaving (or at least not contributing anything anymore). I've been here over 20 years.

As a user of the website, and only the website, too much has been lost:
  • No text formatting available on deal replies anymore
  • Can't enter 'advanced' mode anymore to create/edit a comment with formatting (e.g. bold, italic, underline, bulletpoints, quotes, links, etc)
  • Can't multi-quote anymore
  • No more 'anchor' link on comments - you're stuck scrolling every time you refresh if you're trying to keep an eye on new comments
    • There's so much junk at the bottom of a deal thread that you have to scroll up a lot when you hit the bottom and want reply, or see the latest replies

Looks like they added the reply button but I hate this new version for iOS too. It's like the horrible beta I deleted quickly. How do I revert to the last version? I just tried posting a deal for the first time since the app redesign a week or 2 ago (very unusual for me I usually post more) and it was a complete pain in the ass. Before I could paste the url and it would fill in the title and images. Now paste the url and it wipes out my body and all fields and doesn't autofill shit. I have to enter all the fields manually and worse I can't paste what copied from the store for the subject/title wtf I had to manually type a product name out. Then when I posted it had no image attached. I also messaged someone a while back and I think he's replied by now but can't find messages. The show more comments in threads is an utter mess. It repeats the top 3 redundant messages instead of jumping to the next. Swiping it around is not pretty. Oh shit I almost swiped this entire post before I could post it. What else off memory…The search button or bar should be moved back to top. Took me a while to searching for the damn search button just now. Muscle memory lead me to the top of the screen which is where I think it used to be so again I wish to go back to the old version that was more functional
