That stuff works fantastic the best! Over-the-counter stuff you can get without going to a pesticide store and spending much more money
Something you stick into the ground and it stands upright. Not something you put on a grill and eat.
I have refilled mine with sugar & borax (4:1) to reuse the same stakes for a couple of years now. They do work well. Unobtrusive and effective.

Edited to correct typo in ratio. Should be more sugar than borax or the ants will avoid it.

Seconded. These are excellent ant control. It's basically sugar water with borax. Ants love them.

You say 1 Part sugar mixed with 4 parts borax.

Is it dry mix, or do you mix with water into a liquid concoction?

Where are the most effective areas to install these? I assume near the exterior doors.

The package suggests putting them around the entire perimeter of your building. I used two packages and put extras 1) where I suspected the ants were and 2) by the doors.
Two stakes were instantly crawling with ants the second I put them in the ground. Protip: if this happens, that's probably where the ants are.

ACE app often has $10 of $20, to make this really slick if you have one nearby.
