Have this kit in each of my cars. Tools are not the best quality, but for $20 it's super affordable and will do an emergency job. These have come in handy on many occasions.

also buy a $1.25 box cutter from dollar tree and throw it in... you should always have a pocket knife on your person outside of prohibited places.. pick up one of those while you're there if you already don't have one.

I understand that people are using these to throw in the trunk of your car in case of an emergency. I did that until I had a fan belt snap on the open road. I was super happy to have my "emergency" tools handy. Problem was that these "emergency" tools began stripping the bolts, leaving me in a worst situation. Don't fall for this fake sense of security these sets give you. Always get and use good, reliable tools. Especially, on emergencies!
I'd try these out first before passing judgment. Chinese tools like these or from harbor freight will usually last a little while and sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised. I'd never use these as my main tools but for an emergency they're probably fine. I'll use mine on a few small projects before I put them in The car.
Many times I've needed some cheap tools to change a bulb, wire up a muffler, reattach a broken air dam or trim piece, fix a loose wire, disconnect a battery cable to reset something, small jobs like that while I'm not near home until I can get home. I'd much rather have some tools than none.

As a new homeowner, this kit is inexpensive and gets the job done for a lot of basic tasks. Still using it after 4 years with no problem

For $10 more I am happy to keep this set in my car.
https://www.harborfreight.com/too...64263.html

It has vice grips, wrenches, and full size screwdrivers. I don't know all the differences, but these are good enough in a pinch.

I recently paid $19 for the 53 piece socket set and would have happily coughed up $10 extra for this set given both are pittsburgh tools. Wasn't on sale at the time. Wonder what the return time on those are...I haven't even opened it as I put right into the car.

*update* according to perplexity.ai it's 90 days and so I guess I'll be making a run to harbor freight. Thanks!

What I'm alluding to is: there used to be a simpler times, when car breaks, and one could actually take out the toolbox, clean carburetor, sandpaper a spark plug, and car runs. But these days repairing the car involves hooking it to specialized computer, and obtaining very specific parts, and quite often very specialized tools. I would be hard pressed to come up with scenario where the toolbox would save the day, and I'm not talking about this one in particular - ANY toolbox.

What sort of car repair are you expecting to accomplish with these tools?

You do realize the kit is mobile, right?

It is odd this has no utility knife, but there's no way to add anything to this kit. It's molded plastic with a slot for each tool...nothing else.

Thinking about sending this to my in-laws so I know there are tools around when I'm visiting over the holidays. You don't need allen wrenches all that often, but when you do, there's just no substitute.

I have this set in my RV. Have used it to make all kinds of repairs on the road. Great toolset for light work.

My kit has held up well and prevented many trips to the garage.

I mean, if you don't know how to use tools, leave it to your wife.
