Seems decent but not cheap enough for me to make a knee-jerk purchase. Anyone have experience with this to help tip my hand one way or another? I've been a little weak on lighting lately and could use an upgrade for night work in the garage or yard.

The kobalt light is on sale for $100 at Lowe's. If you have the kobalt battery eco system, I would go that route.

Good timing, I was recently gifted a bunch of (used) kobalt power tools.I think I've found the one, you're referencing but is it really worth paying double for having the ability to use a detachable battery (which isn't included)? https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-L...5013201461

Yes, if you already have the kobalt battery and charger. If not, I would grab the husky.

I have both of these lights. (Not seeing the $100 price on the Kobalt, but doesn't really matter.)

Both of them are fantastic.

The Kobalt is a monster. Tons of light and can be raised quite high.

The Husky, plenty of light for most tasks, and very versatile especially considering its detachable head with magnets and a hook. Not as tall at max height.

If you need a crapload of light in a large area and don't mind the extra bulk I would grab the Kobalt. If you want something that is easier to adapt to a lot of different situations, grab the Husky.

Looks like I lost out, both brands are in stock at my local store and both are back up to regular prices. I guess I'll need to keep lugging around wires for now.

The Kobalt goes on sale rarely, but the Husky quite regularly. I bet if you watch it for 1-2 months you will see it dip to $50 again.
