Also down to $117 direct from Samsung with edu account.

Edit: had a merchant offer on my Wells Fargo card for 10% CB from Samsung.com orders, stacked with 3% from a certain CB site (includes memory as category). Plus ~$5 in Samsung rewards from when I upgraded to Tab S10 that'll just end up expiring. Would essentially bring this down to $97.

It basic idea applies. What do you think SSD are made from? That's right, microchips.

And besides that, HDDs still followed a similar pattern early on. Every 4 years of so you'd have double the space or more for the same price. Every new breakthrough in capacity would push the bottom sized drive off the market and all the remaining drive capacities would shift downward in the price brackets. But that sort of stopped about 10 years ago.

No it doesn't apply, the two things are not interchangeable. This is like saying water, ice and steam are all H20 thus they are interchangeable. No, they are not.

As a matter of fact, that example I gave is closer to the truth than what you stated.

Yes it does apply. The computing industry regarding CPU capability, RAM capacity, and storage capacity followed the same "law" for a time regardless of how pedantic you want to be about the specific wording.
