Ever since the local auto parts stores started price gouging on something as simple as a car battery... they were dead to me... might as well go bankrupt

Anyone get the 1000 points to work? I signed in, no points added, I click the link in the app that says sign in for 1000 points and it takes me to a website that doesn't work

I got the points but had to confirm on desktop site that I got them.

They have a terrible return policy. I learned the hard that they would accept my unopened coolant sensor. There's a long list of items they say are non returnable.

They also give you a $10 off $20 purchase and it seems to work for motor oil in my cart which is rare usually motor oil is excluded

Sorry about your experience, but electronic parts have not been eligible for return at all auto parts stores for decades! They don't know that you plugged it in, fried it, and now trying to return it. I agree if your part was sealed in plastic it should be eligible for return.

I'm not seeing any points from the app download/sign in either. I definitely never used the AAP app before.

Edit: points did show up after a little while.

Rockauto got quite a bit of their inventory it seems, they have it as "Famous Brands", and if you look up the part number it'll show up on AdvanceAutoParts. I got my front brake rotors, pads, engine and cabin air filter for my car for $100 shipped.

Looks like they're entering late stage Sears phase, offering crazy deals and promos in a desperate bid to stay afloat. But when a company starts doing this, it's usually not long for this world. Pep Boys went this route a few years ago. Hopefully Autozone remains, as while I often buy online from RockAuto, Amazon or Walmart, it's good to have a B&M store nearby when you need some item that day or it'll hold up your work, plus free tool rentals. These tariffs are certainly not going to help.

I downloaded the app, signed in but couldn't see a way to see my points balance on the app. I then logged in (on my laptop, Chrome browser) at https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/ and in top right menu, click Speed Perks and it will display points balance. Mine went from 376 to 1376 indicating the 1,000 points had been added. I just now checked my points balance and it is back to 376. I then clicked on Perks Bucks below and see I was granted a $10 off $10 purchase Speed Perks Buck, explaining why balance went to 376 (it automatically redeemed 1,000 of my earned points for the Perks bucks).
