Do many laptops have better than 720p on the camera? I imagine it's pretty unnecessary to have any better for a Teams meeting, and those that really care about camera quality (ie: livestreamers) aren't using an onboard camera anyway.

Don't listen to this guy, AMD's 5850U performs/benchmarks MUCH better than Intel 11th gen. It also has better power consumption (thus better battery life on a laptop).

would work fine for those use cases. I still use my ryzen 5 4500u from time to time and that's the generation before this.

Everytime I bought a refurbished business laptop it had a supervisor password set meaning locked out of certain bios features (like virtualization). Might want to ask seller about it.

Shouldn't really be a problem though but you'll be barred from doing things like running an android emulator or changing the OS from Windows to Linux.

It's a single SSD. Both RAM sticks upgradable to 64gb. I got this from another seller and these are pretty much brand new.

I had this model laptop but with the ryzen 6 5650u. With 32gb timetec ddr4 3200mhz ram from Amazon. A very capable laptop. And the ryzen 7 has the step up Radeon vega graphics in it. I used it for light duty video editing on davinci resolve 19 along with playing BeamNG Drive on it. I will say, windows 10 worked significantly better than windows 11. I dunno what it is but 11 just brings any machine to its knees performance wise. I don't recommend it. The speakers are excellent, webcam is decent. Just keep in mind almost all laptops have 720p cameras until you get into the arm laptops or the most recent Apple MacBook pros. Ryzen 5000 series is Zen 3, which is a pretty big jump over zen 2 Ryzen 4000 series. The other cool thing was the dual mouse pad. I often used the mouse buttons above the tract pad. It made things very convenient. It has 2 usb c ports plus a barrel plug charge port so it has multiple layers of redundancy. And the battery life was pretty good. It's a very underrated laptop actually.

No it doesnt. Just one pci express gen 3 nvme slot. But it has 2 memory dim slots. So no soldered memory on this one. And it's easy to change the thermal paste on the cooler.

This is a great deal. I spent more for a ryzen 5 version last year. This has the better Vega Radeon graphics in it. You can game on it and do video editing. It's a very capable laptop.

I'll say one more thing. Because this is Radeon vega graphics. It has no dedicated GPU. So if you upgrade the ram to 32gb. In davinci resolve at least, it will allocate 12gb of vram for video editing. Which if you have a desktop PC and your running something like an rtx 3060 ti with only 8gb vram, the Elitebook won't run out of vram compared to many Nvidia GPUs right now.

It turns out the 5 4500u is not so bad... It outperforms the newer 5 7520U

I purchased a HP Elitebook last year from the microcenter. Came with a 3 year hp warranty. The laptop didn't come with a IR webcam so windows 11 hello facial recognition will not work. The screen is a big disappointment. Its blurry can only use it for short periods. Came with ryzen 5 pro 5650 for 299. Great speakers though

I'm still using a 5850U Thinkpad. The graphics and core count are really good for its time but if you put it in performance mode it can kill the battery really fast. For games you pretty much need to have it plugged in to use it for more than a couple hours or so.
In power saver mode it's still fast enough for web browsing however, I can get about 10 hours of battery life in the highest setting.

I have to be honest, maybe my expectations of computing are somewhat low, but for like light office work and web browsing a like 10+ year old desktop will suffice. I have an i5 3470 with an SSD and 16gb of ram and it is 13 years old and still actually performs light office work and web browsing absolutely fine with no issues.

This guy put a WD SATA drive into the WWAN slot. I was considering it with a USB Wifi connector but I couldn't find a cheap 1TB one.
