What if, and I suggest, that one should get these following items separately (if there is not a combo available): Cheeseburger, Small Fries, Extra Small SpriteIn my area, that would be $2.19, $2.49, and $0.85. Also, if one can work these three items into deals already offered within McDonald's app to upgrade the fries ($1.79 for Medium or Large Fries) or buy a large iced coffee for $0.99. They would only spend $5.53 or $0.70 less than that to upgrade the fries? Also, dress the burger like you would at Chili's. From what I see, one variation has cheese, diced onions, ketchup, and mustard.
This deal gives you 7x more beef than a standard McDonald's cheeseburger. Is your goal to eat as little beef as possible?

$14 for a basic chain burger seems like a lot, considering the +$3 for tax & tip.

Dollar for dollar, Wendy's Big Bacon Classic combo straight off the menu is a much better deal.

EDIT: Who doesn't love a Wendys Big Bacon Classic? That burger's fantastic. Fresh, never frozen beef. Good quality bun. Whole leaf lettuce. Thick bacon. Quality-wise, Wendy's quarter-pound single / pound double burgers are consistently on par with basic chain burgers like Applebee's and Chili's.

The goal is to be economical. Going by the post itself, it makes it seem like the goal is to get a cheaper price on a meal. In that case, make it affordable and get what I suggested. Heart will thank me as well.
If you weren't going to compare equivalent amounts of meat and toppings on the burger, why didn't you replace the burger with a loaf of bread from Kroger? Cheaper and far less animal fat.

I've done it several times. Lots of chips and salsa. Nice burger. Good fries. And drink. Great deal I think.

Yep, I agree. The Quarter Pounder is infinitely better than the little rubbery pucks on a basic burger, but they don't compare to a good restaurant burger with a hefty patty like this. If you're on a shoestring budget then stick with the cheapest thing you can find or maybe just have a bowl of gruel. But I find this to be a pretty enjoyable meal for the price. I sometimes get the salad or baked potato soup instead of chips and they have a few options instead of fries as well. I was getting the 3-For-Me deal about once a month for a while and they seemed to occasionally send a reward coupon for either a free appetizer or dessert, so I would often combine it with that.

Had the QP last night. Way too much mustard. Usually I eat all the burger at Chili's. This one, I couldn't get pass the mustard and stopped after 3/5th eaten.

So scrape it off? Or ask them to remake it? Pretty easy solutions.

In the TV advertisements earlier this year the chips and salsa were "bottomless" or whatever. Wonder if that is still the case? In the past I'd get the burger, stuff my face with chips and salsa, and swap fries for a salad and get the salad boxed up to go for later. Heck of a good deal! Still a good deal now too.

Also trying to remember if there was an upcharge for extra tomato, extra pickle, extra onion, etc. My favorite burger hacks are to add extra toppings to get a more filling meal Wink
