I came here to read that person who says "but my manual says that the trans fluid is for the life of the car". Therefore I don't need to change it.

I am hoping to read the person that says instead of the 100K the manual says I change it at 40-50K. Although this fluid is probably not for CVT's it is especially true for that application. Change your fluid and filter more often equates to longer transmission life usually.

This is a good deal. I have 2 in my walmart cart for this week's grocery pickup at $25 each. This essentially gives you a 3rd gallon for free.

I recently realized that this car I had never had it's trans fluid changed in 240,000 miles, so I've been doing gentle drain and fills until it comes through clear. It's taken a long while due to the fact that I'm pretty sure the old transmission fluid had no viscosity left and at least finally smells like transmission fluid and not burnt butthole.

Anyway great deal, and if you're worried about tariffs even this is made in America from internationally sourced contents, so it's probably worth keeping a few jugs around at this price.

When it comes out reddish drop the pan and clean the magnets and filter.

Do NOT use this in your FWD Chrysler products. Use only 7176 +4 fluid. This does NOT meet that spec and will kill your transmission. I like Valvoline products and use them often. But they sell a 7176 which is excellent.

It says CVT. But Valvoline has a cvt specific transmission fluid. And I'd do drain and fills for cvts more at 30k miles or 3 years which ever comes first . Cvts will have way more issues if the fluid is old

I believe Hondas and Toyotas like to recommend their tranny fluids.

Anyone with a honda/toyota veer away from OEM tranny fluids?

Kind of.. have a 2005 camry with over 400k miles on the original transmission fluid. Still drives but does slip. Just waiting for it to completely fail

Used in Accord, Civic, CRV, Camry, Corolla, and Celica since 2012. No issue with conventional auto. Key is to change early and often...20-25K miles. Add only 1 qt if fluid has more than 70K miles. If no slippage after 1K miles, then add 2 qt. Repeat this process until you can do a full drain (about 3-4 qts). Auto trans relies on fluid friction.

No issues at all in our acuras with the 5 speed auto transmission. Will keep using it. It is full synthetic, whereas Honda fluid is semi synthetic. I change it about every 30k miles. Both cars have about 180k on them.

the life time is for the life of the warranty.
so change your transmission fluid if you can, if you intent to keep it pass the warranty.
