Hard to find a decent dash cam. Reviews make it look like this isn't a good one either.

Ah yes, the famous BAEASU brand. A market leader just like WOIAME, RUYIDO and other brands names I just made up on my keyboard.

This is probably better than nothing at all, but it's probably hot garbage.

I tried and returned this one. Couldn't read street signs, bright orange road work signs, or license plates. Currently auditioning a red tiger

Initial thoughts on the red tiger? There's a good Amazon deal now on the older version that is 4k front and 1080p rear for $110 after a $12 coupon that is originally $230 (FWIW).

My viofo a119 v2(?) has been great. Ive had no issues in the 3 years+ I've had it. Use an endurance microsd card though.
Garmin and thinkware are two of the more name brand companies that people recommend for dash cams

I've bought 5 dash cams in the last year. The best by far has been my Vantrue S1 Pro. About $130 or so but well worth it. Gave some of the cheaper dual camera cams a try with great Amazon reviews. But while a couple were okay, the Vantrue has been on another level. The build quality is also much better.

I will have to ditto this thought, mine has been solid for a few years

I bought this in March or so, returned it after 5 days. Check out the footage. Yes the windshield is a little dirty, but plates should still be visible with other dash cams.

Front Dash Cam, daylight [youtube.com]
Directly in the sunlight. At 0:17 you can see the exit sign clearly, A+ on that. However, at 0:45, you can see a jeep passing me, yet it's somewhat difficult to see their plate.

Rear Dash Cam [youtube.com]
Directly in the sunlight. Forget about it!!! My rear tint was replaced in January, so I don't know what those bubble looking things are. and at 0:52, I pass a car but I honestly can't make out ANYTHING in this.
