About this product:
  • In 2011, Frozen Planet gave BBC viewers an unprecedented insight into life in the Poles.
  • Now, 11 years later, Frozen Planet II - presented by Sir David Attenborough - returns to the Arctic and Antarctic to observe the amazing species that thrive there.
  • But, going further than Series 1, it also explores life beyond the Poles - witnessing the wildlife dramas that play out in all the world's coldest regions: our high mountains, frozen grasslands, snowbound forests, and ice-cold oceans.
  • These are the last true wildernesses on earth; places so challenging for survival that only a heroic cast of animals can live here.
  • From polar bears to penguins, Siberian tigers to snow monkeys, each species must overcome unique challenges to survive their extreme environments.

I didn't understand anything happening in this. You have to watch Frozen Planet 1 or be prepared to be confused.

Plenty of similar content (and maybe this) on YouTube for free.

Go ahead, I'm ready for the vitriol for saying the truth. 🤙🏾
Free is debatable (ads, or are you a member, data, blah blah), but generally speaking paying for ownership of an A/V experience is about supporting artists that make something you like in the hopes that they'll continue to do so or just to show your support. If you support this sort of thing, you buy it (plus owning media is a thing for some of us) Personally ended up buying 4k versions of this($17), the planet earth ii/blue planet ii ($24), green planet (22), and planet earth 3 (17) despite (theoretically) having copies of several of them on my plex as those prices are excellent.

Do you know how many cents per dollar goes to support them? I'm asking because usually it's the corpos that keep most of the money on such purchases. Im also an artist, and I wish artists could keep 100%.
With this sort of thing generally continuation is based on measured audience (assuming the free/sim stuff you're refering to is not on an official YouTube channel it won't count towards continuation of X.) Equally generalized, production companies put more weight on physical units sold (and broadcast viewership) and less (but not zero!) on streaming views. All the workers have generally been paid up front on this sort of thing without residuals (potentially the narrator may get a residual based on sales / streaming because he is such a big name but I vaguely recall he doesn't 🤷.) but basically that (prepaid/unit numbers) is the reason to buy it when it's at *this* price instead of the release price is it counts as a sale (unit moved) while also keeping some folding money in the pocket of us slick dealers, your option very much keeps more money in the pocket, I'm just explaining why I buy things that I could otherwise get for free. 💜

Entire series is incredible and well worth $17 to own 4K. It does stream free if you have Max
