I just cut many 8"-10" limbs on a tree last night, using one of these.

Then broke everything down on the ground using the same.

Cut like butter and still wicked sharp.

My Home Depot is selling 2 packs of these for $11.

agree with others, this was a you problem...
these things work great for pruning.

a single handed recip with a pruning blade is pretty damn nice when you need it... obviously for small stuff, then break out the battery chainsaw for a bit more work, then the 455 Rancher when you'll be out there all day

What's a good blade for cutting out roots and stumps? I seem to keep bending the cheap harbor freight ones.

Compare them with steel blades.

You either want these or the 9" version, which is what I used last year after some Milwaukee blades twisted and broke. It was still a miserable job, but the blades worked.

6 or 9 inch. 12 inch is excessive and will bend or worse

For clean fast cuts I now use arced edge pruning blades like this : https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CSYHKQJW but thats mainly because I am grafting or doing careful pruning of fruit trees.

For general trimming can't really beat this price.

10" diameter limbs? thats like a tree i'd need a chain saw.

These are the best I have tried for cutting thick roots
