The surge protection the GE model offers is substantial. The Anker, not so much. If you plan on plugging anything of value into it, like an OLED TV or other expensive electronics, I would suggest a surge protector with protection over 3,000 joules.

This extension cord "deal" is posted monthly.

For roughly the same price, get an actual GE-branded surge protector from Target...
"GE 12-Outlet Surge Protector 3540J 8' Braided Cord Black"

*edit* oh Shoot, Slickdeals got all their employees to downvote this bad deal lolol Hey, buy whatever you want; I got one of these too and hooked up my TV and entertainment system to it... Until I realized that a power surge would take them all out as the Anker has sh*t for surge protection. :-) Then I donated the Anker to Goodwill.

That's great, but that one doesn't have built in USB C ports, which is the main benefit of this unit. You are comparing two completely different units.

I have this that I attached to the side of an entry table and it's great. It's low profile so it's nearly invisible next to a wall and has USB-A, USB-C, and plugs all in one. Others have mentioned that this isn't a surge protector, which is true. We just needed something to charge batteries, phones, chromebooks, etc. and not be an eyesore and this did the trick.

In one of the images with 8 safety feature, it mentioned "surge protection" and also listed $200,000 connected equipment warranty.

They sell a LOT of products that vary across their eBay store (most unlikely to see), Amazon Store, and their own website.

It fluctuates largely based on where their market is able to ship \ who has products \ some products may still be "current" but they've already moved on to making a new version of it, OR stopped production but made **so many** that they continue to sell it for another couple years.

They always honor their warranty.

This has TUV certification (which is the German equivalent of UL and is recognized internationally as a safety certification). It's listed in the product details and you can also see the TUV triangle logo on the bottom of the product in one of the review pictures.

Yes, very different. The GE model offers actual surge protection and the Anker one doesn't. Youre right. Completely different models.

Just make sure if you are using it to charge phones that you only use UL listed chargers and USB-IF certified cables to ensure you are fully protected. Those are usually very cheap as well!

This is a desktop power strip with USB charging. It's not meant for your 75" TV. It's perfectly fine for what it's designed for.
