I could never understand why this remastered version looked so inferior to the original version when I played it back in the day on PC.

Perhaps because when we played Crysis on PC we didn't know how good graphics are going to be 15 years later. When you played it presently, you may have compared those graphics with current generation titles? Just a guess that this can happen.

So I just did a little reading up on this after reading your comment. So the remaster on PC is also based on the 360/pc version. Does that mean the definitive version of the 3 Crysis games are the original PC releases?

Yeah I bought myself 2x 9700 pros to crossfire and it ran like butt because I was an Ati fanboy instead of getting the 2 x 8800gt. Back when Nvidia used to have the best value gaming cards. I was a dumb kid.
