This is the model that keeps showing up on SD and has problems with a plastic nail carrier breaking and nails jamming (read the negative reviews). I wish there was a deal on a better model once in a while. If anyone knows of one, please share.

If you don't have a compressor or any tools then the best deal is when the ridgid 3 tool combo kit drops down to $200. LSA makes it an amazing deal.

I know of the kit you are referring to and it's a great setup for someone who doesn't own any air tools. The compressor is probably my least favorite because of how loud it is. I would upgrade to a quieter makita model but that's more of a want vs need.

Yup, if you don't have any air tools you'll be hard pressed to find all the individual tools for the same price even if they are on sale.

I have this set and the compressor is loud, that is for sure

Depends on what you want.
I bought a Ridgid pancake compressoor for about $60 back when there were deals on those. Sill nice at $99: https://www.homedepot.com/pep/RID...0950369196

If you want a really badass pancake compressor, the Metabo HPT "The Tank" is unusually powerful for a pancake style. $199 at Walmart with 15% back at Cappital One Shopping.

If you want to run actual air tools in the shop like air hammers and needle scalers, then you have to get a very powerful compressor, or at least a massive tank.

This is better - that being said 18ga is easy to drive. This goes on sale every month or so it seems but if you need one now the HF one is fine.

I've never had this one jam on me. The 15ga one is great too.
