Note: Per the terms and confirmed last time by me, they round the points refunded down to the nearest dollar spent before taxes.

So, for example: A purchase of $19.99 plus tax, you get only $19 worth of points refunded. Since their battery prices virtually all end in .99, this is a dollar's worth of points you will not get back. Still slick, but not the same as Office Depot's 100% back in rewards program works. They do not round down. They pay 100% pretax back in rewards.
Slick dealers should be aware of this, because viewing $$ worth of rewards value vs. "points" it is not obvious.

I also suggest using their price match policy to your best advantage for this. You can lower your out-of-pocket, and sales tax.

No, these do not earn you any Staples rewards if paid with rewards.

Yes it worked on a pack of 4 Duracell rechargeable last round in store.
Can anyone confirm this works online as well this round? It says both Online and Instore this time in the fine print.

As long as it is in one transaction. That is what single-use means. The offer can only be used one time, Not on only one single item. Also, as stated by OP, limit $50 back in points. They will pay back the dollar amount worth of points rounded down to the next dollar, pretax. So you will lose about a dollar's worth of points. Read my earlier post if you have not.
