Looks like you are just buying RTX 3090 that runs a bit cooler but same performance.

Well it looks like the slickscalpers are at it again. I am upgrading my setup and well now looks like another year till I can get anything new GPU wise. Hopefully my rtx 2070 will hold for another year.

The thing is though the 50xx series really is not going to sell that well other than resellers since it has performance gains but most gamer's are staying on the 40xx series.

Man this comment reeks of 'cope and seethe' - and no, I'm not trying to troll..
Not going to sell well? They're selling like hotcakes - and it's not just scalers buying them.. the market's just an absolute mess. It's no surprise that it's still difficult to get a Founders Edition card @ MSRP - it has been for years..
...also, 'most gamers' are 'staying on' 4000 series?? Most gamers don't even have RTX 4000-series cards! There are a lot of people out there are just like you, looking to upgrade from even older GTX 970 / 1080-era cards they've been hanging on to, waiting for the 'right time'. Problem we're up against now is, with what's going on recently, it sure seems like this might be one of the last opportunities to grab one at their current MSRP.

Overpriced under performing cards in the Nvidia line up this time around, will keep holding out for a 9070XT, luckily I am not in a rush.

Limited stock is the problem, if they had ample stock that hotcake comment would fizzle quickly.

Very helpful link. But - that article also says your best alternative in this price range is to get a 9070XT for $600 ... but those are not any easier to find. And a lot of their disappointment is compared to the price of the 4070 Super last year. Good to know but that's not helpful for people actually shopping for new GPUs.I decided to jump on this rather than wait to see what the tariffs are going to do to these prices.
yup this. i also got one. this is a bad time to be picky if you want a gpu.

I mean, you're kind of just proving my point. It's not just Nvidia that has had trouble meeting demand - AMD's not been able to keep up either. Just look at all those $599 MSRP 9070XT's priced at $1000+...

They purposely produce lower numbers to create an artificial demand. It allows them to keep sales going for multiple quarters at a steady rate instead of one good quarter.
