PSA: Oral B Glide floss is coated with Teflon (PTFE), which (a) isn't good at removing plaque, since Teflon is designed to not have things STICK to it, and (b) is potentially unsafe.

Many dentists recommend waxed floss as a safer and more effective alternative to Teflon floss.

Its a matter of personal preference.

Some people prefer unwaxed floss which seems to pickup food particles better and can get between tight spaces better, but if your teeth are close together, unwaxed floss tends to break and fray along the edges.

Waxed floss on the other hand tends to glide between the teeth easier and is less likely to get stuck between teeth or get caught on rough edges. It doesn't fray or break as easily as unwaxed floss either, but unwaxed floss is a little thicker, so if your teeth are close together, you might find it to be too thick and may prefer to use unwaxed floss.

If you have widely spaced teeth, you could try tape floss/dental tape. It's thicker and broader than conventional dental floss and doesn't easily fray or break.

I'm personally still sampling and haven't settled on a favorite brand. The main things for me is that it's PFA/PTFE free.

A couple of considerations:

- Reach is popular brand that's PFA-free.
- Dr Tungs Smart Floss is also popular, but on the thicker side. I haven't tried this one yet.

Yup, same experience. These used to be thin and smooth, yet strong. Now it's fatter and rounder, yet somehow weaker. I broke about 4 per flossing before I threw them out.

I moved to GUM comfort slide. They aren't as good as the old Glide, but close, and way better than the current Glide.

If you have a dollar tree nearby, check out the section for GRIN double flossers - they're my new go-to
I feel the double string "scrubs" the sides of my teeth so much better than a single flosser
YMMV but low-risk try

The green equate brand from Walmart actually does a better job now and is way cheaper. The threaded one does definitely break, I've been able to clean it out and other times I've come to my surprise with finding little threads later on. My teeth are tight, so I floss 1-2x a day, the treaded ones I need like 6 just to get finished. 3 for each row or more because it falls apart, sometimes on the first set, it's ridiculous. I would never buy again. I like that it cleans, but falls to trash too isn't good.
