These style of stands aren't very stable. I have one from another brand (same Chinese factory probably!) and the locks kept slipping out every time I'd move it just a little.

In the USA we can have multiple McDonalds at the same intersection but 1.4 billion people in China and there is still the illusion they have exactly (1) of each factory.
FWIW, I bought my wife this exact stand (B08G84P8ZX) in 2023 and she has never made a similar complaint. Maybe from a different factory
I am returning another version of this currently. This design is NOT stable, at least for a larger (15.6) laptop. It wobbles and the adjusting angle supports pop out way too easily.
