Mongoose Legion L500 Freestyle BMX Bike [walmart.com]

$298.00 at Walmart

They don't list the original price but it has a $699.99 MSRP.

I don't see any at nearby stores and there's only 5 available for shipping.

This is a BMX freestyle/street bike with full 4130 chromoly frame/fork/bars/cranks and a freehub.

This has been the best deal in full chromo bikes for years fully supported easy to access warranty as well.

Price on this is SLICK!

This ultra-durable L500 features a Mongoose full 4130 chromo frame, removable brake mounts, and mid BB shell. 21" top tube length.

The bones are good you can replace parts as needed with better ones

Until 4/20 you can get the Mongoose Legion L100 for $240. Specs are pretty close to this, with the main differences being no freehub (cassette) and the front hub isn't sealed. Some riders don't like the slack in the freehub or don't need to be able to roll back.

Another notable difference is L500 has 48 spline cranks, L100 has 8 spline.

I did not know this, but indeed this was buried in the manufacturer's specs.

In the context of BMX bikes, 48-spline cranksets are generally preferred over 8-spline cranksets due to their higher durability and strength. 48-spline cranksets, also referred to as spline drive, have a more precise fit between the crank spindle and sprocket, leading to reduced wear and tear, especially under continuous pressure. 8-spline cranksets, while a more affordable option, tend to wear out quicker, especially with heavier use.

Thanks. That helps lol. I just got mine in the mail. Purely nostalgia. I'm too old to pull off tricks.
