  • Have been searching for decent IPhone 16E deals for a week and came across this deal with US Cellular, so thought of sharing.
  • This is a YMMV deal because US Cellular doesn't allow you to buy the phone/service if the ZIP code doesn't have native US Cellular coverage.
  • Iphone 16E for $99 with Port-in and with Prepaid Unlimited+ plan required - this plan is $55 per month and $50 with Autopay.
  • 4 months (120 days to be precise) to unlock for IPhones on US Cellular. You may downgrade to cheaper plans after the first month.
  • US cellular get a lot of hate here and in general because of missing coverage and availability. So YMMV with this deal.
  • My intention is to just share it so at least those living in the eligible Zip codes might benefit from this deal.
Look up the page below and scroll to the IPhone 16E for $99 prepaid deal.

New line or a new account, iPhone 16e purchase, eligible prepaid service plan purchase, account personalization, and port-in required. Instant discount applied at time of purchase. Taxes, fees, and additional terms apply.

Also keep in mind - the impending merger of US cellular with T mobile. - Might happen any time soon.

They're going to give a thumbs down because it's not available in their area even though you stated it and it's not your fault and it is a slick deal hands down.

I visited the store today (with my friend) and they had a similar but slightly different deal .
In store, it was $199 +55 for the first month service. So that's $100 extra for the phone but they would off set it with $25 credits for 4 months ( month 2 to month 5). The catch is that you will have to stay on the $55 plan for 5 months at least to get the benefits of the monthly credit. So if you buy in store, you would need 199 for the phone+55 for first month up front+ 4*(55-5 auto pay discount -25 credit) =199+55+4*25= $354 in total
The advantage with in store purchase is that you are not restricted to 1 phone, ( my friend bought 2 phones today from MA/NH area) and you will get multiline discounts.
For the online deal, the math would be something like : 99 for the phone+55 for first month+ 3*(25 per month cheapest 2GB plan -5 autopay discount) =99+55+60= $214 . 4 months auto unlock. $214 is a pretty good deal for this phone if you are willing to wait for 4 months for unlock. The restriction with the online purchase plan is that you can buy only one phone . The store allows you to buy upto 4 phones ( if they have that many in stock). While in store, I noticed a couple of guys walk in to ask for this deal . Seems like many people locally are going for the in store deal here in my part of the northeast.
The store guy said US cellular uses AT&T in areas where native US cellular coverage is not available.

Yes. I noticed this too.. looks like a trend- whenever a smaller carrier is getting acquired by T-Mobile , they put out some really good phone deals . When Mint was getting acquired by T mobile, they did a similar pixel phone deal that was too good.
I guess T mobile asks the smaller company to boost up the user numbers through these phone deals , so the acquisition can look good for wall st investors.

What if I put in a zip code that's eligible for the promotion, and ship it to a different address?

Nevermind. Can't ship it to an address outside of the "coverage area."

My zip code says supported, but my address give an error when attempting to sign up. If I send it to a friends whos address is literally a mile away from me but is supported according to the site, should it work?

"US Cellular doesn't allow you to buy the phone/service if the ZIP code doesn't have native US Cellular coverage."

OP, you should post a link to the coverage area so people have an idea of where the deal applies.

Like when bank deals with limited coverage are posted and the OP includes the states/areas where the deal is valid.

It's not by state/area, they go granular - all the way down to zip code. .
When you navigate to the iPhone 16e page, will pop up a window asking for your zip code. You can input your zipcode there to check availability. Link here:

Another easy way to check if you are eligible is to go visit their coverage map and check if your zip code has got their native coverage ( if the coverage says "partner coverage" in your area, that would would mean you are not eligible).
Even In my area (MA/NH region) some zip codes along big freeways are covered but anything beyond these freeways ( probably determined by their tower locations) is not under their native coverage. Check here:

When I get to the final "Place My Order" page it doesn't show the $500 discount...

And when I placed the order, it gave me a 4 digit invalid order number which customer service could not locate. Don't waste your time with this scam company

I was able to complete an online order for my area. Pretty easy.

Ported a google voice throw away number.

it was $99 + Tax (+$55 for service once activated)

might try to activate it on a different wireless carrier once it arrives and see if it auto-unlocks.

BUT GAH DANG!

These prepaid mid-range phone deals are going to bankrupt me. I already got the Pixel 9a Visible deal as well.

Going to test both phones and see how each one stacks up with each other.

I daily drive iPhone and my whole family uses iPhone so I'm pretty much obligated to use it to be "in the loop"
