Yeah, a lot of laptops are returned and in refurb process they swap the SSD. So the SSD barely used for any data.

Way too many fake NVMEs on eBay these days. I literally don't have time for finding out my 1TB NVME is a fake when it hits 40% full and the entire thing corrupts, to save a few dollars.

$92 is too expensive. I purchased two Hynix BC901 512GB m.2 2230 drive from HV supply on Ebay. Both are almost brand new work really good with my Hagibis and Orico enclosures from Aliexpress (much cheaper than Amazon). They have the 1tb for $49.99. Here is the link,

Same thought. WD SN series was on sale at this price for 2tb about a month ago. Not sure if this is twice as good as the SN series

Now that the chinese memory maker YMTC is flooding the market with NAND and DRAM SSD prices should continue to drop dramatically. Last time there was a massive oversupply 1TB drives dropped to $29. In Shenzhen they are already hovering around $15-20.

Same, the WD SN740 2tb 2230 drives from aliexpress have been solid, got one in my steam deck and has been great for over a year so far, though tariffs would make getting that alot harder soon
