After searching I can't find any details of forum rules about posting referral codes, or even "pm me for a referral code", in a thread where people are already signing up for a service and talking about referral codes. (It shows up on the tags too, but again, a forum search shows nothing.)
I just got the posts removed, but I'm not sure what's detailed about what's allowed and why. I understand not wanting referral spam, particularly on posts, but not sure about comments, particularly when solicited.
It'd be good to get this clarified, and reasons given. Also if there is a resource for which one can post and find referral codes when the referral itself is perhaps a deal, as may be the case with many of the subscriptions posted here. Reddit for example has such threads.
