Amazing guitar. The Ultra line is my favorite collection they've put out; they feel absolutely perfect. The Fender Play is, without a doubt, the worst guitar course that I've ever tried. Had a free sub a few years back.

My son prefers the C neck, but otherwise this is a good deal.

Definitely a slick deal. You can feel the difference with the Ultras. I tried some of the other lines and they just didn't feel as good as the Ultra to me. It's made for ease of use, comfort, and can go fast with fret work. S-1 Switching System works great and sounds clear with the triple single coils (SSS). I like the noiseless pick-ups too, but there is opinion that it does not sound true to the vintage strat sound.

For comparison, I play the Ultra Luxe Strat in HSS configuration w/ Floyd Rose. The Floyd forced me to learn, but it's a PIA to tune if you don't have a roadie (like me!). I really wanted the humbucker to get that lower sound more associated with the Telecaster. Also the "Modern D" neck does feel different than the traditional C. I have played but never owned the C, so I can't compare.

This is the best price I've seen on Ultras. I've seen used ones listed for more than this price and you get a year of Play.
Don't forget to add a tuner, picks and a strap.
Good find, OP.

Have owned an ultra strat (artic pearl) for over a year or so and it is my favorite electric. The necks on these feel incredible. Watch the QC on these though, mine had a couple scuff/dent marks on the volume knob. Ended up keeping it but QC is a known issue for some of these guitars.

Great guitar, I bought one second hand awhile back and of the half dozen guitars I've had this one is probably my favorite. Plays great and very reliable.

I have the Fender American Ultra Stratocaster (different finish) and it's a nice guitar. I'd have no problem recommending this at this price.

That these are cheaper than used is what pushed me over the top. I was looking at a used one with a big chip of missing paint in the back, the front had a smaller chip and it did not have the trem bar, COA or the case for $1200 plus shipping. The case alone is over 200.00. That was the cheapest I could find. The new Ultra IIs also got a price increase

How many years should someone have to be playin this sorta beast? l just started out so cannot justifiably spring for this high-end instrument knowing that 95% it will just be in a bag or on the stand. The same look can be had for any chender type and may even sound the same to the untrained ear...thoughts?
