If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.
Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.
$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)
ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.
When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when there is no active sale on the game.
You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries.
If you have glasses or a stigmatism, there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.
The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)
The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027
There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life.
The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.
You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.
If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.
There's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.
360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.
Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.
Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.
Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.
Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)
If you owned a Quest 2 and purchase a Quest 3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.
Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables
Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in-depth reviews.
I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.
Meta+ is not needed to use the headset (my 3 month trial just ran out)
Edit: The 3S low storage is not ideal. Many games are only a few GB but some are 30-60GB but that shouldn't be too much of an issue if you delete games regularly after you've beaten or tried them.
Unlimited on Mint was $15/mo/line last year and I can't imagine going back. Comically Verizon Wireless sends emails saying "We've changed for you!".
Fios pricing in this promotion is good but throwing in the asterisk that this pricing is only with Verizon Wirelss service really kills the deal.

If they're still installing external ONTs in your area and you share the same last name, good luck. That's two annoying hoops to jump through.
You'd probably have to hop over to cable or 5G until the dust settles.
My suggestion is that schedule a disconnection at a convenient time either on the last day of your billing cycle or a few days before since Verizon doesn't prorate the bill for the final month. Internet should stop within 5 minutes of disconnect and you should be able to sign up for a new service immediately after that. In theory, you don't have to change a thing, but be prepared if something goes wrong.
Frontier just raised the price of my 500/500 by $10, no email, no warning, nothing. Probably going to cancel and go with Spectrum for a while.
There are boomers and other oblivious consumers who will happily pay $120 for 1G for a decade straight. The pricing obfuscation works effectively to capture every segment of the market— from oblivious to savvy.
